Wow the mayor resigned over this after standing by the officers decision. Good for this little town for pushing that amount of pressure!

Cops are the same everywhere. 
We see a lot of German shepherd police dogs come in for surgery and these are supposed to be the most "well cared for" working animals. Last week, we were forced to amputate a leg because it developed an infection post surgery, they'd left this poor dog sitting in its own urine & faeces in a kennel, which infected the wound, it was brought in with zero accountability or care shown & the unit can't even be reported for cruelty. 
 

It's the same with animal farmers - idgaf how much they say they "love" their herding dogs/animals, they almost always end up getting unceremoniously executed once injured or no longer useful.
