formlessminutiae Posted May 26 Posted May 26 She should just open the doors and have a cover charge for anyone who walks in. That's a real club classic! 2 9
Shinning Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Troye's show in my country sold out months ago. But then it is a theather.

Being a brat and not being able to sell shows is a new level of embarrassment. At least Lorde was smart enough to book the places she can definitely sell out & her UK shows etc were still pretty big venues. 11 2
Kimbra Posted May 26 Posted May 26 (edited) The seats are filled everyone is just a twink so it just looks empty. Edited May 26 by Kimbra 4 1

OP is talking about North American arena tour dates. In which case, here's your girl: https://amp.theguardian.com/music/2018/mar/19/lorde-us-tour-flops-pop-career Ofc she went for an intimate tour after a commercial bomb, that's not a creative choice, nobody's ******* with her! Bumba Posted May 26 Posted May 26 They should have done 5k capacity venues like Kim Petras… they might be big on stan Twitter, but that doesn't reflect real life sadly
conquxror Posted May 26 Author Posted May 26 Ummm why are you guys bringing up Lorde when the real enemy here is twinkatron 3000 Troye Sivan 4
BloodLuster Posted May 26 Posted May 26 they should be touring nightclubs and I'm being quite generous 1 1
no_better Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Tbh I would happily go to this tour if they did it in the UK because I saw Charli many times already so at least this is something different But then I'm not big on Troye so idk

Hard agree! I like some of his songs but overall, his persona's asynchronous with hers. She's messy & imperfect. To me, he's boring & lacks depth. His interviews couldn't be duller & pivoting into more outrageous outfits doesn't substitute for a personality. But they have the same manager so I guess we have to suck it up 1
Great808 Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Troye's streaming power alone would lead to believe he could tour at leaat moderately tbh, surely as the dates get closer he'll sell out he's only one of the best and highest streamed artists from this time. As for Charli she'll be responsible for pulling in maybe 1/10 of the total ticket sells lbr about that
Paultea Posted May 26 Posted May 26 My local show for Tate McRae is basically sold out and resale tickets are way too expensive. She could easily upgrade to a bigger venue and she's at a bigger place (amphitheater I think?) than Charli was for Crash. It's still not an arena. Now why did Charli skip right to arena from a small theater here? Her and Troye could have sold out the same venues Tate is right now and it would still be bigger than the last tour she did. Also to the people saying she should only do arenas in certain markets and theaters in others- unless they design a stage that can fit and operate in both size venues that doesn't work.
Into The Void Posted May 26 Posted May 26 4 hours ago, ontherocks said: Not all of the shows look bad tbh. New York, Dallas, Boston, Chicago and the four(!!!) Cali shows look good. She just doesn't have an audience in most of the midwest and the south. But she has to attempt bigger shows there, even if she fails, cause the South is growing fast People r so over dramatic they r selling fine in key cities. Many do worse
Batsy Armada Posted May 26 Posted May 26 They need to do better with promoting and selling themselves and their tours. Release singles, build hype, make videos, etc. I enjoy them both and would go to see them live if they were coming anywhere near me. Touring artists are always surprised by the turnout whenever they come to Louisiana, whether it's New Orleans, Baton Rouge or even Lafayette—with how big that region has grown.
