Would have loved to see an Indian-descent in such a big franchise but oh well.  Too much flavour I guess.

Yup, the brown people are still being typecasted as either the nerds or sidekicks in big movies. 

The only recent example who did her own thing and became a lead was Priyanka Chopra in Citadel but she still hasn't been able to bag as many as big leading roles in Hollywood even after a decade, as she did in Bollywood.  
 

edit: on there is Dev Patel I guess

He would have been great casting. I still think Pedro is awfully miscast for this particular role.
