So she had a big dress tail with a Jesus christ propaganda face on it?.... Serves her right for them not letting her do that shite on the carpet

She did the same to korean actress and singer Yoona

Not sure if its a racial thing though. She did the same to a Ukranian model.

She probably does this to everyone who's not super elite A list. You'll never catch her acting like that to the Angelinas and the Meryls of the world

It's Cannes policy for forever.

It's primarily an industry event where execs strike deals for international distribution.

Theatres are used for multiple screenings so the Cannes staff do not tolerate any delays.   The screening starts at the schelduled time and there won't be any delays allowed. They don't want to piss off the execs who actually have money.

Random celebs can walk and they line up to do so. But ushers keep them on a tight schedule and if they try to get extra time, the ushers will ruin their photos and rush them. Cannes ushers are constantly telling celebs to keep walking and get off the carpet. If they disobey, they will take action right away.

Also I think they largely don't allow people to stop on carpets for photos except for the actual cast of the movie. Stairs are for walking not posing.

Cannes ushers are under strict orders to keep things moving and non a-list celebs that don't follow instructions get banned.

(Personally I think Kelly Rowland deserves to be treated like an A-lister and get nicer treatment but it's the French)

Thank you. I guess people are used to American Awards where is all about the celebrities, designers and red carpet small talk that goes on and on for hours. Cannes is actually serious about filmmaking and has held this reputation for decades

I think alot of the drama is due to celebs going and not understanding the difference and quite how strict the ushers are.

They spend weeks getting a nice dress for the event and it's a big deal for them to get a nice photo. But Cannes ushers  are merciless

Yep. Had the chance to attend last year and they don't **** around. I saw people that had invitations getting rejected because they didn't have a bow tie or just because they wore the wrong type of shoes. I got yelled at and confronted by security guards multiple times because i wasn't walking up the red carpet fast enough. A lot of the hostesses are really disrespectful too…you can't argue with them or discuss their instructions even if you're right cause if you do they'll call security and you'd get escorted out (and probably blacklisted) in a heart beat.

I wish she stepped on the dress, ripped it and whispered softly into her ear :

"Jesus is dead"

This has been a blatant display of racism against WoC and to that Ukranian lady.

Yeah i don't think it is racism. I think that security lady just rush everyone who is not A-list and it comes off as incredibly rude. Not a good look for the festival

YoonA was posing on the stairs but when she tried to pose at the top of them she was blocked because only movie stars can do that.

this woman didn't want to leave the red carpet
ezgif-6-3d2b21ae30.gif

she posted photo from the balcony (despite that taking pictures inside is prohibited)

and  those with balcony tickets didn't have full red carpet access

celebs were allowed to take photos at the bottom of the stairs if they/their sponsors paid for it. Heidi Klum, Aja Naomi King, Eva Longoria... were invited by Cannes official sponsor - L'Oreal, Bella Hadid, Maria Borges, Demi Moore... by another sponsor - Chopard; Izabel Goulart, Elle Fanning, Rawdah Mohamed by Kering.

if celebs don't listen to security then they are blocked from taking photos

or when they try to pose on top of the stairs

i get there's a schedule but just dont put your hands on people wtf

If they don't want people to pose, don't put out a red carpet at all? Just do a quick photo op for the movie cast.
