Im not so sure about that. I saw somewhere on twitter that the same bodyguard did not let one lady to go down the stairs (held her in her arms) and then when she escaped the others bodyguards blocked her way. She was white. I think she wasn't from Asian but I'm not 100:/: sure. She had a black dress I believe

Cannes is different from other other red carpet events. Cannes is notorious for rushing celebs on the red carpet like what happened to Kelly.

 

Cannes runs on strict time schedules as each theater is used for multiple showings each day. celebs lingering even for an extra minute can delay a showing which would throw off the whole timetable,  pissing off the organizers.  Cannes is fundamentally about getting international distributors for each movie and so those execs don't take kindly if showings are delayed due to the red carpet.

 

Security has to move celebs along to keep their jobs.  At the same time, Kelly isn't used to being herded by cattle. It's understandable that she got angry about it. She likely wasn't briefed about how strict the timing is for Cannes.

 

It really shouldn't be a big story.
