Beyoncé hit with copyright infringement lawsuit with "BREAK MY SOUL"

Beyonce is being sued for allegedly infringing copyright of a New Orleans based music group. They claim Beyoncé, Big Freedia, JAY-Z and Sony Music illegally sampled their track "Release a Wiggle" without their consent.

Quote

"Beyoncé has been accused of copyright infringement in a new lawsuit targeting her US No 1 hit song Break My Soul. The lawsuit names Beyoncé, Big Freedia, Jay-Z and Sony Music as defendants. It is argued that Explode used "unique and distinctive lyrics and musical composition" originally created by Da Showstoppaz, adding: "Defendants used plaintiffs' words, melody, and musical arrangement from their copyrighted works … Any reasonable person listening to Release a Wiggle and Explode would conclude that the songs are substantially similar".

The music group members are calling for the group to be added to the credits of both Explode (officially published by Big Freedia) and Break My Soul, and to receive royalties from the songs' future earnings, plus damages.

It's clear this is a money grab because why is Jay-Z even part of this lawsuit? It's not even his song. He's just a co-writer but it's the sample he didn't write that is allegedly infringing on a copyright...very silly.

Yeah i know, im saying Big Freedia is the one behind Explode which was sampled on Break My Soul. The songs don't sound the same , they are just the same genre(bounce) and they say release the wiggle.

These people sue because they hope for a settlement if the act doesn't want the track being tied down to prolonged litigation. I don't hear any similarity.
