OT: Well, I feel bad for her, the only female popstar besides Taylor Swift and Rihanna who served good pop music this decade has flopped, what a tragedy. :(

Is this something you all tell yourselves before going to bed? :rip:

I hope she manages to have longevity though.

The "pop" image is done. The general public are tired of gimmicks and it appears they want more authentic people? Because only the lowkey-non attention seeking pop singers seem to sell now.

actually...this is true.

Gaga kinda made sure that door closed a few years ago. Then Adele came, and Lana, Lorde, etc...people want more relatable people i guess.

Sales = Physical + Digital

Itunes = Digital sales

and Katy has ticket bundle sales.

So sza is only digital?

I am not the one whose bitterness is being shown all over this thread.

Deal with the fact Katy is undeperforming and move on.

I mean...... One second she's No.20 (20th week on chart), suddenly No.20 (2nd week on chart) is her TEA. :rip:

Genuinely curious why Katy got dragged for her numbers first week sales but Lorde is praised? Is it because of their popularity or lead singles?

The fact you're expecting someone with 14 top 10s (most recent 1 being four months ago) to do the same numbers as someone with 2 top 10s (most recent 1 being 3 years ago) is a drag in itself for Katy. Katy is much more established and has much more success with hits and in general, different expectations.

Can somebody do the math for this:

sza is selling 8k and her position is 13 while Katy is at 5, what are her actual sales?

One of you mathies do it plzzzzzzzzz

We don't know physical sales, so estimating album sales is really really hard.

Katy probably would be in the 5k range without tour bundles I guess, but really just a guess.

Katy would probably have done the same #s of Lorde/Halsey without the ticket bundle

Two new artists relying on their small fanbases vs the biggest hitmaker of the last 9 years, of course expectations will be different :rip:

Well, those Katy numbers are bad, but let's not act as if the ticket bundle continues.

The ticket bundle exists for every week. There was probably also a bump this week considering tickets went on the sale at the start of the tracking week.

didn't Halsey used the ticket bundle strategy as well? if both were without ticket bundles Katy would have still outdone Halsey first week not sure about Lorde. But still quite embarrassing and both Lorde and Halsey might end up selling more in the long run

I dread to think what it will be selling in it's third week

Words cant describe how happy I'am that Katy Perry aka culture vulture flopped! She is so disrespectful to the black culture and hip hop...disgusting. It seems like Karma is a bitch after all!
