You can't really compare peaks either, because for example Bad Romance is much bigger than 80% of songs that went number 1. Paparazzi peaked at number 5 and has sold as much as many number 1s and so on. Also Katy's first week is much bigger than those 4 albums, so it doesn't matter that much where she is 2nd week compared to the others in their 2nd weeks. I am not saying Witness isn't underperforming severely, but yeah these comparisons are kind of invalid. Sure if you reach #1 or not is very dependent on the competition. #20 is basically always the same. And yes tour bundles The album is performing as bad / worse than those 4 albums. The only thing Katy has is CTTR being the by far biggest song from the 5 albums and maybe her tour. We'll see how that does.

That's what I meant that the attendance is more important. But I didn't really bother to calculate it, so yeah you are right. But you need to also understand that Madonna probably sold out a lot of shows right away, which helped her have 187k album sales from bundles in her first week alone and that's considering not all of the people redeemed their ticket to get the album. For Katy I doubt she sold more tickets until now, than Madonna did in her first few weeks of ticket sales.
jinzo Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 21 minutes ago, Mariano said: You can't compare Bionic and Lotus to Witness, the sales back then were totally different. Witness will still end up nbeing bigger than those, and definitely much bigger than Glory and BJ In all fairness, when Witness outsells Bionic and Lotus in their first week DESPITE the horrible sales climate - and then fails terribly in the second week, yes you can. When you can outdo flop albums in their first weeks against the odds, you should do it HANDILY in the second. This just highlights and extenuates the level of flop that Witness has achieved in its second week (and overall).

mick64 Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Halsey is now officially the best album-seller of Capitol right now. The queen deserves much more

chris1991 Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Sales are crap. It happens to every pop star. A flop is a flop.
Aurora Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 cute numbers the album is still amazing ahh she really did that i'm so proud of her
6_INCH_HEELS Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Oh, Katy. Not cute. We'll see how she bounces back after this. Hopefully, her team learned valuable lesson. She would have been better off releasing the album while CTTR was doing well...
