Ok, after finishing my first listen, my least fave track is the first track while the rest are great or excellent, she did that :jonny:

The album is a 10/10 because even if a song isn't your "cup of tea" it still serves her incredible vocals , great lyrics and production above all.

However, whilst I do love/like and appreciate L'AMOUR and that sudden switch I just wished if she would've made them into 2 different songs. And just perfected a great transition between them.

But still that isn't a complain. The album is impeccable and a 10/10

In a year marked by underwhelming big pop releases, the 22-year-old star stands out for her bold, risk-taking approach.

Oh this Evening Standard review is goong to make some people mad lol

Something to standout from this other than Billie's vocals is the production, what Finneas did on Chihiro, BOAF, Bittersuite and Blue is incredible!!!

this is her MAGNUS OPUS

Every song sounds like 3 three songs mixed together, I loved every milisecundum of it.

Loved every track but L`Amour is such a disappointment. The gap of quality before and after synth starts is huge.

THAT ONE IS LITERALLY THE BEST, the roller coaster on the song:gaycat7:

Gonna try to evaluate it without any biases and expectations, listening without reading all the critical acclaim and AOTY proclamations:

1. Skinny - The VOCALS yes! A nice light appetizer and warm up for the rest of the album and a warm welcome back moment.

2. Lunch - Users in here slandering this BOP baffle me cause this is so instant and catchy and a perfect lead single and I'm literally forcing myself to not put it on repeat cause I still have the rest of the album to EAT!

3. Chihiro - Claimed this track from the start and I already love it within seconds :jonnycat: Should be the second single as Lunch is more GP friendly I guess. But 5 mins went by so quickly I didn't even notice :skull: Maybe just one repeat wouldn't hurt before I move on to the next track :gaycat6:

4. Birds of a Feather - Not even halfway through this album yet but it's really hard not to scream AOTY at this point :deadbanana4: The MELODIES are so instant and strong, she's SINGING SINGING, the production is perfect and fresh and organic. These MELODIES are what I've been missing from ALL of (Western) MUSIC in the past years like the only other (Western) album having good melodies recently is Eternal Sunshine. Lemme quickly press next before I find myself putting this on repeat as well :skull:

5. Wildflower - Why does this song make me feel like I'm walking down a beach in heaven :gaycat7: I feel like this is more of a grower though.

6. The Greatest - Ok so far this my least favorite trac- OH the drop just came :jonny3: Yes STOMP on me. But yeah still my least fave track, ironic cause of the title.

7. L'amour de ma vie - Ooh we're back to instantly catchy melodies after a couple of growers :clap3: Even her vocals and delivery evolved tbh! However, this is the first and only jarring production switch on the album :skull: Bring back the perfect first 3 mins I wasn't done eating!!!

8. The Diner - Another instant bop in the basket! Vibes wise this track reminds me of her previous albums but why does it sound so different? How?

9. Bittersuite - I love how atmospheric this album is, it really transports me to some ethereal place :gaycat6: The most unusual track on the album (in a good way). The switches aren't jarring at all, they feel organic. This is adventurous. This is art.

10. Blue - Closing the album with another instantly catchy bop (and when I say instant I mean literally the first line :rip: ) Now I get why there are no singles, at least 7 out of these 10 tracks screamed singles to me (even within the first 10 secs :rip: ) including this track. Glad she trimmed the fats, save the rejects for the reissue or something ("But when can I hear the next one?").

TLDR - HIT ME HARD AND SOFT AOTY  CHIHIRO SOTY

EDIT: BLUE SOTY TOO

I agree completely!! I love Finneas' growth just as much as Billie's. He's taken all her albums and combined all of them and it's so clean

This is her best album to date. I know I previously wanted Billie to explore working with another producer but Finneas shut me right up cause he's definitely doing work on this record.

I mean I really have no notes except I can't see the songs truly being mainstream played on the radio HITS cause even Lunch is a little risqué but anything is possible! I'd love to see this album soar!

Finished my first listen and I must say I'm blown away by this exquisite record from start to finish. This is clearly the album of the year. Chihiro, Bittersuite and Blue are my picks  :jonny5:

Ok, so i am in "The Greatest" and i needed to stop….. i been crying non-stop because of how  euphoric and beautiful its each song.

I f****ng love TTPD, Cowboy, Eternal, Radical, Deeper Well, Born Screaming but this álbum ate each and one of them.

I just can only say how this year has been amazing in music and we are only in the first half of the year and the more music to come

Ok but the way Wildflower goes so ******* hard from the 2nd chorus on with her screaming on the background vocals and then ending with haunting vocals... where's my wig? what did she take it to? :jonnycat:

I wasn't expecting her to go all out with the track run from Lunch > Chihiro > Birds of a Feather :WAP:

Maybe that "double" thing is the original album and a remix album, I'm just guessing
