frankvert Posted May 31 Share Posted May 31 I was in temporary ban-land from posting when this album dropped but WHEW it's an instant classic and immediately one of the best albums (if not the best) this decade. Billie and Finneas really gave it their all. Here are some of my thoughts that I had after my first listen: - LUNCH is the bad guy of this album in terms of vibe & placement. - CHIHIRO is a SUCH a sultry vibe but goes on for a little too long. - BIRDS OF A FEATHER is a smash hit waiting to happen, and clearly the label/audience think the same. This will be a #1 if radio gets on board. - WILDFLOWER and THE GREATEST are both great but I feel like serve (almost) the same purpose on the album, and WILDFLOWER does it better. - L'AMOUR DE MA VIE…. BILLIEEEEEEEE. THE SARCASTIC VOCAL DELIVERY. THE TRANSITION. THE OUTRO. INSANE! Absolutely CANNOT wait to hear this live. ITS OVER NOOOoOoOoOoOW - THE DINER is easily my FAVORITE song on the album. Sinister, ear worm, the INSTRUMENTAL. Literally could be a movie score and the first thing I said about is that it sounds like if a Quentin Tarantino movie was a song. Pure excellence. - BITTERSUITE is absolutely stunning…. "I CAN'T FALL IN LOOOOVE" is my favorite part. Every time I hear it I think about Halloween and visualize a very creepy atmosphere.
