L1veLaughL0ve Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I used to love Billie when I was 16 and all she had out was her EP. I haven't loved anything she has released since then. That being said, this new album is shaping up to be something I am actually very excited to listen to. She has definitely grown out of the weird, jarring emo alt music she has been pushing out for these past two projects. 1

I wouldn't really call most of HTE "weird jarring emo alt music" but I get it for WWAFA. 3

I think her early EP stuff is low key her best and I never enjoyed either of her albums except a handful of tracks (the ballads mostly) but every snippet from this project sounds amazing

selena_lavigne Posted May 15 Posted May 15 (edited) With Billie, i learned about her through AjayII actually. B*tches Broken Hearts was on my playlist and i saw that she had a song on 13 Reasons Why. My favorite from her debut project was Bellyache. I thought it was really cool that she had a song about killing all her friends and lover. And it was a bop. I was also obsessed with My Boy a BANGER whose magic she unsuccessfully tried to recreate with another song. After this i covered Ocean Eyes because i thought it was really pretty. When YSSMIAC came out i saw the spider thing everywhere but that was it for me. What started converting me more was ummmm i became a fan in early 2019. I remember one of my friends saying Bury A Friend was her iconic song, but i was always a bigger fan of WTPO and thought that was at the time her IT song. When her debut album came out Bad Guy was obviously my favorite. I thought it was the freshest and coolest song and I LOVED I MEAN LOVED that outro. I thought the themes she explored on that album were phenomenal even though i didn't click with some of the songs on the album. Xanny has production that i will draw inspiration from as a reference for one of the songs on my 2nd EP if it ever happens. I LOVED AjayII's reaction to her music videos. I wanted to see her live for this tour but it was sold out. I for some reason was very fond of Everything I Wanted i guess after i made the connection to Selena and Rare was coming out i took Billie as one of the artists that would feed me while Selena is on a break. I absolutely adored My Future, i adored it. I thought Therefore I Am was another rehash of her classic sound but i switched on it because the transition to it on the album was INCREDIBLE. When Happier Than Ever came out i thought it was an OK at best album but i enjoyed a lot of the songs. I switched on Happier Than Ever when i was walking through an airport. Happier Than Ever sounds really good on coke. I bought a hoodie with her face on it i wore all the time and everybody would talk and sometimes flirt with me about Billie. I would fantasize and saw signs that Billie would make some sexy songs for this album. I think sexy songs would really work well with her. I didn't really enjoy What Was I Made For? I thought it was a snoozefest. But these snippets and everything about this era so far is giving me signs this album is going to be phenomenal. Can't wait to stream!!!!
