Kayseri Mantisi Posted October 4 Posted October 4 (edited) i wonder if there's any possibility of Lorde not wanting the song to be sent, since her upcoming album is also near... or it might be also because of the 2018 GRAMMYs controversy (the misogyny scandal of them not allowing her to perform even though she was the only female nominee & then Lorde wearing a dress with a feminist diss text on it's behind) she was also dissing GRAMMYs on Solar Power from California: from Helen Of Troy: Also the weird comments here saying Lorde doesn't deserve a GRAMMY in 2024 when she already has 2, and names like Addison & Billie are more deserving are just so.... uncultured and behind Edited October 4 by Kayseri Mantisi 1 1

Should've been: Pop Duo: Girl, so confusing w/ Lorde Pop Dance: Guess w/ Billie Music Video: Guess w/ Billie Yeah, that's what I thought she would do. Obviously, Billie is more popular and has more chances of making Charli win something, but I was kind of sure Charli would find a way to fit GSC somewhere. I mean, despite Guess being more popular, GSC is more adored by her fan base, more acclaimed and more talked about whenever she has an interview. I'm not 100% surprised, but more disappointed. I just think that Guess & GSC have more chances of winning something than Von Dutch, so not sure why she didn't shuffle submissions. Lorde has as many Pop field Grammy wins as Billie, mind you. 1 1
Moonlight Nation Posted October 4 Posted October 4 That's disappointing...but at the same time I understand the reasoning in terms of maximizing nomination + voting chances. "Guess" remix not only features Grammy darling Billie Eilish, but it became Charli's highest peaking song in the US since "Boom Clap", not to mention also hitting #1 in the UK. I'm surprised it wasn't nominated for Best Dance Pop Recording as well. Either way, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance is "Die With A Smile" 's to lose, but "Guess" remix could upset like the similarly provocative "Unholy" did back in 2023. It's a shame the Recording Academy values hit appeal so much, because in an ideal world the "Girl, So Confusing" remix would also be a fantastic Song of the Year contender. Oh well...
Michael196 Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Lol... as if the first condition to agree on hoping on the remix wasn't this 1
Jenni Posted October 4 Posted October 4 This is not a surprise, guess remix had way more hype than gsc and charli has a better chance of winning a grammy with billie than with lorde. But I think her label messed up the submissions, they could've submitted guess remix to dance pop and gsc to pop duo. If they had done this then guess would have won easily. Now they will lose to bruno and gaga 1
prostitute pickup Posted October 4 Posted October 4 The category von dutch remix was submitted into is purely for the producers/production. If it wins then only AG would get a award, not Charli nor Addison (Lorde too if it was GSC remix) 1

GSC remix is amazing, but Billie's collab was always going to give Charli the bigger impact both commercially and critically. 6
John Slayne Posted October 4 Posted October 4 not her snubbing the best collab. it should've won pop duo

Cruel Summer Posted October 4 Posted October 4 I'm sure that Charli and her team have good reasons for submitting what they did. Let's just hope it actually gets nominated and wins a few, because it deserves all of them!

bielneira Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Not surprised at all. "Guess" had a decent acclaim, great numbers, a music video, and features an artist who is also competing this year… It was the most logical choice, considering how the Grammys work

The nomination (if it happens) would be for Charli and Billie (the performers of the song) So failed shade
Helix Posted October 4 Posted October 4 love the girl, so confusing remix, but did anyone really think it would be nominated over guess? The chances of guess being nominated are way higher than the lorde collab sadly. And you guys do know the „best remixed caregory" is only for the producer who remixed the song right? Lorde and Charli wouldn't even get a grammy in this category. Lana also didn't get a grammy when the Summertime Sadness Remix won 1 1

It's not just one website - I posted 3 things with 2 of them having scores by thousands of people (with obviously Billie having a bigger fanbase too), it should give you a general idea of which song is more acclaimed
State of Grace. Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Those submissions are actually great? I love GSC remix and Lorde's verse is verse of the year, but I don't think it had a chance. Billie is more of a Grammy darling and Guess is a hit.
playboi Posted October 4 Posted October 4 she's mad cuz the lorde verse is the most memorable moment of the era 2 1 1
