Blue Monday Posted May 19 Posted May 19 (edited) Marielle Heller is amazing, and I've heard the book is great. Pulling for a win cus Amy needs one. Searchlight must feel confident because that's an awardsy release date Edited May 19 by Blue Monday 1
wulmite Posted May 19 Posted May 19 I thought the book was OK, I honestly think it might be more interesting as a movie

Europe Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Gaga will win the best actress Oscar for 2024 so it's pointless to even talk about this. 1 1 4
HonourableVomit Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Can everybody just let this woman work and get her bag without hanging all that Oscar baggage onto her like- 1
Space Cowboy Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Amy Adams will not win an Oscar ever. She's heavily overrated as an actor and she just simply isn't that girl. 1 4

Digitalism Posted July 18 Posted July 18 (edited) I think the subject matter of the film will hurt her chances for an Oscar They usually hate these types of movies Edited July 18 by Digitalism

Anything's possible. The thing is Poor things looks like high art which helped her get the win. The movie was top notch on every front. This looks like a comedy about a girl that turns into a dog. Old people in the Academy may hate it even if she wins all the critics awards. Even the name may keep the older voters from watching. But hopefully you're right. Not because I want Amy to be nominated for this but because if things have really changed maybe we will get a future Tony Collete in Hereditary type of nominee. 1
