as mentioned above it's a clear respond to a lot of shitstorm she got from media in the past months. U really had to follow that to get all the references.

I'll try to list sum here:

 

Spoiler

- on the day of the musiv video being shot a part of the song's demo leaked and the media was very negative about it and its sound. In the song she says stuff like "you heard the demo and declared FLOP-FLOP-FLOP" "now the whole country is following / is dancing to it" etc.

 

- on an ig live she did she did after ZARI's release she said that the inspiration wasnt just reggaeton, but sirto (a traditional sound similar to reggaeton). She then jokingly said something like "dont act like yall had reggaeton in your villages" and media turned her words into blaming her making fun of the prairie. In MIXTAPE she mentiones this again and says things like "dont act as if I said anything special"

 

- in the same ig live Marina mentions that she got inspired by the sirto sound of Kelly Kelekidou's Glyka Glyka (which itself was a pop re-imagination of a traditional song). After that, Efi Thodi, a legendary village-song singer, but also very senile woman, got mad on TV at Marina for not mentioning her version (originally her rendition made the song big in GR). In MIXTAPE Marina samples Glyka Glyka... the Kelly version. ;) 

 

- on ZARIs release a big songwriter claimed Marina stole the TA TA TA TA idea from one of her songs and became viral for her tantrum. In MIXTAPE Marina references that with the "copyright on tatatatata" part of the song, while saying lyrics like "I'm putting a plug on you" (plug = tapa) / "tatatata TAPA" etc.

 

tldr MARINA ENDED THEM.

 

Also:

she's the first woman #1 on the Top Artists Chart in GR and occupies the Top 3 of the Greek Spotify Charts rn
