Mariano Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Is that country going to participate again? And if so, why don't they just cancel the shitshow already

And if so, why don't they just cancel the shitshow already They'll likely be competing this year but since Israeli government is pushing forward with a privatization of KAN (their broadcaster) they'll likely be out by 2026 or 2027 if they actually go through with it. EBU is fighting against that from happening so take that as a sign that the EBU still has no desire to get rid of Israel themselves 1

BOOM! Posted January 9 Posted January 9 They need to reveal who was selecting Dora 2025 songs because... The only one that ate i fear...
Fevesy Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Dora is a bit meh, but I can see Monopol winning but there's nothing there that is top 10. Poison Cake is.. interesting I guess but super cringy at some points I could see the vision if there was a big stage production, but this is HRT we are talking about
Bloodflowers. Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Marko Bošnjak or Ogenj, they have the two best songs I also love Nipplepeople, Fenksta, laurakojapjeva, Luka Nižetić, Jelena Radan and IVXN
Gwendolyn Posted January 9 Posted January 9 The BBC is taking their sweet time with the UK entry... the trauma Olly and Mae have given them. It's sad what happened to Olly and Mae's careers following Eurovision, Mae is focused on acting and Olly still never got the same level of success as Years and Years. That and the Israel controversy of last year, I wonder if the BBC struggled to find an artist this year.

That and the Israel controversy of last year, I wonder if the BBC struggled to find an artist this year. The thing is, they took a very confusing direction after Sam because Sam both had the stage presence + just a strong song in general. Yet the past 2 years they've been solely focused on finding a good pop hit. I don't get why the UK doesn't do the same thing our country does when selecting internally, which is song first, doesn't matter who the artist is. The UK seems to be focused very heavily on artist first, song later which RARELY works
Fevesy Posted January 9 Posted January 9 UK will definitely go more ballad/vocal oriented this year (the BBC said so) - there's a leak going around about potentially two artists together (didn't name them) but I don't really trust those as they're never really correct. As much as I'd love a British NF with the mega production of Melfest because they certainly have the funds for it, you can't trust the British public not voting songs about pastries or whatever so I just wish that if they select internally that they allow song submissions and do it that way. My dreaaam would be every year it rotates between each of the nation subsidaries of the BBC to promote more diversity. Even if they have to give England it every second year because of the population breakdown or whatever. Just something exciting, please

elvenOCEAN Posted January 9 Posted January 9 (edited) Okay, there's no Baby Lasagna, but this could give Croatia a solid top 10 placement, I'd dare to say even top 5. It's got everything you want in an ESC song: native (?) instruments, fusion of genres, nativ language, good vocals, and most of all authenticity. The only other acceptable option is NIPPELPEOPLE, although the vocals could be better. A worthy follower to BL that's still got some of that same spice that made BL so appealing. elvenOCEAN Posted January 9 Posted January 9 That Magazin song has got a good intro, but the rest just goes nowhere. "Tower of Babylon" remains unbothered. Not the mention "Nazareth"... that song would've won ESC 2005, I am convinced of that and no one will change my mind! Next to "Statements" (Loreen 2017) and "Nótt" (Yohanna 2011) this was the greatest crime ever committed in any national selection. Still can't forgive or forget!

It's against the rules to change the song after submitting it, she ****** up That's the song she submitted originally and artists have a period from being selected until close to the songs being published publicly where they can touch up the songs. It's not confirmed but apparently she changed some lyrics and made the song and her singing more pop-folk, which HRT did not like, and we all know why so they disqualified her. She was disqualified not because the song sounds a lot different from the original/demo version but because of the song giving "cajka".

Just a few minutes ago she was on a live stream talking about setting up a meeting with HRT few days before the deadline to let them know she basically changed the entire song. The only thing she didn't change was the chorus She said she knew she was likely getting disqualified, but had to follow her heart nonetheless. You can touch up the songs after submitting them, you can't change 80% of the lyrics and production. No need for conspiracy theories.
Pendulum Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I've seen rumours about Callum Scott for the UK the one who shamelessly made Robyn's DOMO his own
BOOM! Posted January 10 Posted January 10 This actually ate a bit in full. It probably sounds better than 90% of the Dora songs that are giving literally nothing. Sounds like it could've been fun live. But i am not sure would she be able to pull it off. Feeling really bad that this was disqualified. 1
