Taylor and Ariana both have a chokehold on the younger generations. Why?

While most Swifties and Arianators have grown up since Taylor and Ariana's debuts 2006 and 2013 respectively, the two of them still have a chokehold on the younger generations today, 18 and 11 years later into their careers.

ATRL likes to use "Teenage girl fans" as a drag for some pop girls, but appealing to the next generations also ensures their relevancy moving forward.

Should other pop girls take notes?

This:clap3:

They like to use that as a drag but then cry when older artists/legends aren't being supported as they should.

It's the type of behaviour of thinking the old music was better than the one we have now, they are stucked with the artists that influenced them on their younger days and they are pressed that they don't have the youth privilege anymore

It's not much about bitter gays, but more about you pushing 40 and 12 year old kids relating to your lyrics.

So you're telling me that 12 yo are not supposed to like ANY music that comes from a 30+ yo artist?

It has more to do with the mentality of some of the fans.

According to user Kyoto on ATRL, 12-18 year olds can only listen to Jojo Siwa (excluding her recent single for obvious reasons) and her peers, but they can't listen to +30 year old artists.

I do wonder sometimes.... what do these people consider "adult music" or "adult lyrics" to be....

Idk about Ariana, but Taylor's fans are growing up with her, some of her fans from her early years are now parents and have their own kids, they're rainsing their kids to be swifties. Also Taylor's music can be enjoyable for everyone from all ages and she also makes everything so exciting and fun for fans and younger people love that :gaycat5:

ATRL seems to think singing explicitly about sex is "mature"

This clearly applies to Ariana, she started building her fanbase when she was on a Nick Tv Show, most of her biggest fans started following her since then, they're like 5-10 years younger than her and grew up with her

They think watching Game of Thrones and listening to music about going to clubs and having sex makes them very adult and mature

One would think given your avi that you have other things to be worrying about than 2 extremely successful pop stars

OT: Gen Z was who Ariana targeted starting with My Everything. She's had them for years. Taylor's hold on them is mostly due to the resurgence of her catalog

When you have longevity, this sort of stuff tends to happen.

They both have VERY strong discographies/catalogs at this point with oodles of past and present content for younger generations to consume who may have been too young when these albums first came out to fully enjoy them at the time. They also both peaked in popularity at "core" points of Gen Z and younger's childhoods, so of course as Gen Z and younger gets older, they will feel more attached to them. Like millennials will always feel a certain special attachment to Taylor as well, Bey, Rihanna, Gaga, etc.

Taylor's lyrics are young adult fiction, so it's no surprise they love her.

Ariana has an effortlessly cool thing about her.

One would think you should have a Britney avi given how hard you ride her dick even on non related threads, dupe.

OT: I've stanned Ariana hard since the first episode of Victorious. Talent always wins :flame:
