Tovitov Posted May 8 Posted May 8 (edited) Biden says he will stop sending bombs and artillery shells to Israel if they launch major invasion of Rafah | CNN Politics I know it's not enough to win people over. But he's been saying for months that he won't support Israel if they invade Rafah. Atleast he's keeping his word on that. Edit: It'll be a wait and see if he actually goes through with it, but it felt worth posting just the same. The last time a president tried to directly pressure Israel with aid was George Bush Sr. in 1991. Edited May 8 by Tovitov 2
Almighty Gaga Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Because American politicians are very trustworthy and never do the opposite of what they say. 1

Communion Posted May 8 Posted May 8 I searched up Rafah on Twitter, trying to find the reporting that Israel's ground assaults have already begun, because Biden's claim "Israel hasn't invaded Rafah yet" was confusing. I then saw a child's face in a pile of body parts as a medical examiner rummaged through limbs and remains. I then saw the US has indefinitely delayed its report on if Israel is committing war crimes and whether it is violating its own laws by selling weapons to Israel. *sighs* 2 1
getBusy Posted May 9 Posted May 9 They bombed the **** out of it already sooooo maybe a little too late?
byzantium Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Did no one tell Biden there were children in Rafah? Once he learns that, I'm sure he will change course and approve of their slaughter. 2 1
Communion Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Quote Despite the pause, the Israeli military has enough weapons supplied by the U.S. and other partners to conduct the Rafah operation if it chooses to cast aside U.S. objections, the first official said. He added that none of the pauses apply to the billions of dollars in additional Israel aid passed by Congress last month. With regards to that, the Biden administration just approved $827 million worth of weapons and equipment for Israel in the latest tranche of Foreign Military Financing, the official said. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2024/05/07/biden-delays-weapons-israel-rafah/ America is a terrorist state. 1
GhostBox Posted May 9 Posted May 9 (edited) Biden's gonna get a lot of flack (from the right and media) for saying this today but he already said something like this before about Rafah being a "redline". It's technically nothing new. but cue the Biden hates Jews posts from republicans 😂 Edited May 9 by GhostBox 2
Letemtalk Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Biden gave Israel enough weapons to bomb Rafah several times over, so it probably doesn't make much difference. - The United States did the R&D to design the bombs and other weapons. - The United States arms industry makes the bombs in US factories. - The United States transports the bombs for thousands of kms to Israel. - The US authorities arrests students protesting the massacre of Palestinian civilians. - and it is all paid for by the US taxpayer. The IDF completes the last 50 km of the delivery of the bombs to Gaza with the full support from the United States. This is just as much an American genocide as it is an Israeli one. 1 1
Letemtalk Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Joe Biden lied again. "It was only that one shipment that was paused" 1

Arguably he may have made things worse by forcing Netanyahu to double down in order to save face with Ben-Gvir and Smotrich

Netanyahu is never going to agree, he'll end up out of a job and in prison if the war ends. I think Biden is trying to go around him but im not sure how successful he'll be. Gantz came out in support along with the hostage families so it's a start.
