It can't be undone. I hope she gets justice. Her love and obsession for Spain was so weird to me when she was never fully embraced and faced lots of weird "racism" stemming from colonialism (from the media, socia; elites and governing agencies...not the public who clearly mostly loves her there). "For Spain"

The headline causes some confusion. There was allegedly overwhelming evidence for the highly publicized 2012-2014 fraud case, which is why she quickly arranged to settle it out of court, not long after the witness details and evidence was submitted to the courts. Given the amount of evidence they apparently had on her, it would have been a difficult fight for her and to be honest she/her team made it worse by not settling it sooner. This second case against her for 2018 is separate and was opened later, but it seems they had nowhere near the same amount of evidence. Edited May 9 by Zack 1 1
LatinFreak Posted May 9 Posted May 9 The judge has agreed to archive the case. With the first case closed, and this one now archived, the whole tax drama is OVER and Miss Mebarak Ripoll is officially a Free Woman! Can't wait for her to announce the Spain dates of the tour!
KingWitch Posted May 9 Posted May 9 The way they made it seem like she has no way out only to toss the whole thing aside, maybe she paid the witnesses not to testify

They never had a case against her. her business in majority is in the US and she paid taxes there …since she wasn't in Spain for the qualifying days (165 days) they just wanted her to take a plea deal (weak case) or keep the bullying for years to come, and it could take up to 5 years … this second case they dismissed because in spain law … they can't give out plea deals to second offenders so eventually they will have to take it to court and show that eventually miss shakira was always right and she had no WRONG DOING! nothing but a smear campaign! and they will look stupid with all the "evidence" hairdresser and card transactions they had they can just easily pull up her passport and show how many days she remained inside of the country …. which they never did
Lorelei Posted May 10 Posted May 10 The way the tax evasion accusations have been the only interesting conversation around her name during this era She could benefit artistically from some jail time, ngl

Not only did the Spanish tax office go to the press confirming they had sufficient evidence to prove she was in Spain for over 183 days (which is the qualifying amount for tax residency) between 2012-2014, but Shakira also never directly claimed she was tax resident in the USA. At first she claimed she was a "nomad" with no specific home, then when the tax office pushed her, she said she was resident in the Bahamas, but when they asked her to prove it, she failed to provide any evidence she was living there or went there in that time, including plane tickets/private jet bills, she couldn't show anything except water/cable bills that had been from her staff going to the house and turning on and off the water and TV Also that case had to go through multiple reviews by judges. The Spanish court won't waste time to let any random case go all the way to trial if there is literally no evidence (that's why this 2018 case has been archived). However for the 2012-2014 case, it passed multiple case reviews which means judges had to agree that there was enough evidence to have the trial. The whole thing for 2012-2014 sounded suspicious, to be honest Shaki should have sued her accountants etc for telling her the wrong things...because if she just settled that case quickly it could have avoided so many bad headlines and stress for her and her family, it's a pity.
