I have friends that swear by Teams, I don't think they've used Slackiana before though

It's awful but these boomers aren't going to use Discord so it is what it is

Slack is much more flexible than Teams

I used Slack in college but use Teams in the corporate world. They both have their positives and negatives.

My workplace has both and every time I use Teams it’s absolute hell. Slack is actually pretty solid. My only major complaint is it’s login system is a bit awkward.

My job uses both but I/we use teams way more. Slack looks pretty cool plus the mobile app is nicer but all the discourse is super cringey and corny, nobody but the usual 2-3 ppl that love to hear themselves talk even post on it. It's mostly for announcements or coordinating company events/hangouts now. Teams is great for casual chats with work besties in the background or quickly exchanging info with other coworkers. Basic but efficient.

In general, these apps at work cause so much daily disruption and anxiety for ppl that it’s hard to support either. They are overused. From a pure usability/interface perspective though, I love Slack. It has a much better design!
