Angelina Jolie nominated for Tony; Coming for EGOT

The Outsiders, which Angelina co-produced with her daughter, has the second-most nominations for a musical this year, only behind the 13 nods received by Hell's Kitchen, a semi-autobiographical production based on the life and music of Alicia Keys.

Angelina and Vivienne first became fans of the musical when they saw it at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego earlier last year, with the teenager in particular feeling inspired to bring the production to Broadway. She was the one responsible for convincing her mom to sign on to the project and speak with the novelist herself, who was the same age Vivienne was when she wrote The Outsiders.

I love Angelina, but calling her a future EGOT when she only has one of the four required awards is a little bit weird, no? Feels like a setup :gaycat7:

So she saw a play, convinced her mom to move the play, spoke with the novelist, and could now get a tony?

Why does a play need that many producers :rip:

There should be a limit on who gets nominated for a Tony like I think the Oscars.

I hate that "producers" get awards because they throw money at a thing and hope it sticks.

I don't consider those who have EGOT'ed with producer credits actual winners.
