I'm LOLing at people still trying to find way to drag Taylor, even after record breaking sales in its first week. Yoll are pressed that your favs can't even pull her second week numbers and even reach total sales in her FIRST DAY of sales.

stay pressed in a TAYLOR SWIFT thread haters x

455,000 for a second week is crazy, it's hard for most of artists to achieve that as first week

People had weeks and weeks of preorder and there's not all the variants available that were with the weeks of preorder. Plus so many people already have the album. Of course it's gonna have a large drop. Yet it's still more than most big artists do in their first week :worship:

*It's impossible for literally anyone except 2-3 artists to score first week sales as big as TTPD's second week.

Sure Jan. She ain't Adele. GP doesn't care that much and delusional Swifties made only 1st week hyperhuge.

well thank god for that... imagine going from 3.4m to 800K and having 0 longevity :ahh:

Taylor is more stable and consistent with her success, reaching new peaks decades after she debuted. Adele is a fad and i cant wait for her next album to solidify her status as one.

Whenever you're at the top, the detractors will be louder.

Who in their right mind would criticize a 455k for Week 2? Seriously??? :rip:

Midnights sold about 2.8 million copes in total, TTPD is at around 2.1 million in 2 weeks. It's going to end up selling about the same as Midnights, so I can't see anything suspicious.

The 1.9M copies were from over 2 months of pre sales, plus the debut week is always the highest sales week for an established artist. The drop in week 2 is due to it being only 7 days of sales tracking, compared to over 2 months totaled together for week 1 numbers.  There also aren't all the variants available like there was throughout the over 2 months of pre sales. Additionally 1.9M people already bought it, so that's less people that are buying in week 2. I don't know what's suspicious to you, cause it seems pretty reasonable.

1989 went from 1.359M pure sales in week 1, to 122,000 in week 2. Pretty close 2nd week numbers, or are those sus too? Lmao

Now you're reaching, how's Adele a fad when she's had 4 successful albums? :rip:

Yea cus there is totally a real fan of some near 40 year old act whose only active 1 month every 5 years on an online forum like this, you're totally not hiding lmao :bibliahh:

regardless,  given TTPD basically outsold 30 with streams alone, and the second week streams is still in fact bigger than most new albums nowadays should've opened up your little head about how crazy the hold actually is, (better than even Morgan wallen album), . but isn't your strong suit as we can see.

well that's not really how it went..

  •  19 was a flop at first
  • 21 was an album that wasn't front-loaded but had extremely good longevity and sparked interest in 19 which eventually made it sell
  • 25 was her peak and it was monstrous and everyone was invested but the era was also front-loaded and did not serve the same longevity as 21
  • 30 was also front-loaded but was a disappointment and ultimately marked her downfall.

FYI: none of the above albums are currently charting on the BB200.. her next album will truly show if she became a fad of not.

In order for TTPDs streaming hold to be better than "even Morgan wallen album", it requires at least 420k in American streaming units in week two.

Not y'all tryna act like doing 455k on the second week after pulling off 2.6M is a huge "drop" lmaooo!!! I'm not a stan but pulling off 455k after doing 2.6M is still incredible no matter who you stan.

Imagine going TRIPLE PLATINUM after just TWO WEEKS after only ONE lead single! PLEEAASSEEE!!! :deadbanana2:

455k is an amazing number, and incredibly impressive lmao!

Uhm… girl even if her next album "flops", she won't be a fad. After 4 successful albums (one of them obviously being intentionally lackluster because she intentionally didn't want all that attention). She won't be a fad. Having 3 classic albums back to back is RARE af.

So even if she retired NOW. She would still at least be seen as a nostalgia act tbh. Maybe not to America but to the UK (her home) yes.  Def would not be a fad no matter how the cards are played next era imo.

The sales of all of those albums are gag worthy for 99% of artists. No matter how you want to spin it Adele has incredible sales across every album.

Taylors drop was expected, but the 2nd week sales are still huge.

did not serve the same longevity as 21

Doesn't mean it wasn't successful. Most artists wish to have 25's success.

What???
Firstly, I am a fan of several musicians, not just Adele. So why wouldn't i be on a music forum???
Secondly, "near 40 year old"?? Adele is 35. That's not near 40 year old. Taylor is only one year younger than her.

Maybe I misunderstood something, but Morgan Wallen did 234k SEA units in its second week, not 420k?
