Maleficent Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Quote When asked about addressing critics, he told Vice: "Tell anyone who mocks you that they are betraying profound ignorance of the skin microbiome, and then walk away." yas girl, tell them
Pheromosa Posted April 27 Posted April 27 some of the responses in here, let's just say I'm not surprised certain members smell like **** 1 9
loveisdead9582 Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I shower at least 5 times a week. Maybe not every day but close. If I have a lazy day at home or something I might not but overall it makes me feel cleaner and my hair look better
Vespertine Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Is this what they're telling the straight guys at my gym who have such a pungent odor (and leave a trail) that I can barely stomach working out on the bench next to them, or using a machine after them? Explains a lot. Electric typewriter.
LoveInStereo Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I swear ATRL has this debate so often. Everyone's body/lifestyle is different & there's no 1 size fits all routine? You know what works for you. If someone smells putrid, they're not skipping the shower bc they read a study in a newspaper, they're just gross
Arthoe Posted April 27 Posted April 27 The biggest damage in showering every day is also the kind of soap you're using and the deodorant you're using. Natural deodorants are scams, aluminium ones are the actual only ones that work AND they're also safe. The anti-aluminium movement was based on pseudo-science anti-vaxx BS. For the love of god, use perspirant with tons of aluminium on it. For soaps, people generally should use more gentle soaps to wash. The ones we're commonly washing ourselves with (Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate & Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate) are heavy duty motor oil degreasers that are just cheap to manufacture and foam a lot, but they are ultimately highly irritating to our skin. These tensides are also known to be allergenic, you can literally grow allergic to bodywash/shampoo if you're not careful enough. They wash away too much of our skin barrier, which makes us more prone for bacterial and fungal infections. Tensides/soaps based on sugar/coconuts are a lot more gentle and less allergenic, and showering every day with gentle soaps is WAY less of a problem than showering every day w the sh*t that the average person uses. 8
Solaria Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I see a difference between showering and washing yourself every day. I find it gross if you dont atleast wash your pits and naughty bits every day, especially in the summer. That **** gets funky FAST. Showering your whole body I do every other day. And washing my hair twice a week 1

Archetype Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I can smell that nasty writer through my screen. You don't want to be anywhere near someone who hasn't showered in 24 hours in the summer here. You can smell these people from 15 feet away, it's disgusting.

Gladiator Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I don't think people shower to perform but rather to not smell like ass. The shower performance is simply part of the process.
youcallingmyname Posted April 27 Posted April 27 No stinky! Especially not for us allergy sufferers. I shower twice a day. three times on gym day which is 3x a week chile!
Batsy Armada Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I shower everyday; every several months, depending on what I've been doing or will do, I'll take a second shower sometime in the day. But, no, I absolutely won't take health and hygiene tips from people who don't shower. It's fine that they say it's "performative," and they're more than welcome to feel that way and be funky, themselves, but I'll absolutely stick with my showers. I like being and feeling fresh, and I'd argue that it's actually healthy to shower to wash off the bacteria, grime and dirt from the day. You don't just stay dirty and funky, but that explains why some people smell the way they do. 1
Tudors Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Nope it's part of my glam routine every morning. Working on turndong down the heat tho cause of my exema
DeadInside Posted April 28 Posted April 28 What do they do with the poop that gets stuck in between their cheeks or the smegma under their foreskin?
Genius1111 Posted April 28 Posted April 28 I live in the tropics and I go the gym almost every day, so yes, I will be showering twice a day most of the time.
TheGerm Posted April 28 Posted April 28 i try to run four miles a day and i sweat so ******* much when i do so i sometimes think i have hyperhidrosis so the thought of not taking a shower after that feels like an act of bioterrorism
John Slayne Posted April 28 Posted April 28 i could never. however, i do understand that if you don't physically exert yourself and it's a cold day you might get away with skipping a shower or two... but people preaching this probably stink, sorry.
shyboi Posted April 28 Posted April 28 in winter, when it's freezing, i don't shower every day now in summer, sweating, exercising, sometimes i take showers am and pm 1
