She decided to announce the album out of the blue with the artwork, putting the label on blast without any notice, and basically forcing them to release something. Of course, this manœuvre didn't go to well as there was nothing to announce to begin with, no final tracklist, no date, nothing (explains also the long silence that ensued). Label decided to go with it but with minimal investment as to prove their point: the album is not solid enough and without any investment on our side you won't go anywhere. Don't expect any video or performance or anything, this is the whole project as it is. @Monsieurgedeon Any additional tea or info that you can provide us with? You were clearly correct months ago.

Baltie Posted August 25 Posted August 25 I streamed Dopamine today for the first time in a while, and it still hits the same as when I first listened to it. It's such a shame there's like zero buzz around it because it's such a good album! In another world, this album would be catapulting Normani's career. 4
sweetsexysavage Posted August 25 Posted August 25 The way this album still slaps. One of the best, if not the best, R&B album this year. 1 1

However once the album was delayed (again) they had to go through with the endorsement while having nothing to promote (Bose would not change their full marketing calendar). A video was shot at some point but it was decided to rather cut the losses and not go with any kind of promo including videos (and editing). The material is here so maybe at one point in the future (not this year) they will release it as a gift for the fans but in 2024 there is no budget planned to support her or the album and the sale performances didn't create any positive momentum. All I can say is that relationships are really tense right now between the artist and the label. She will not let anything transpire tho and would prefer to act like everything is the result of her own choices even if it's look bad. 1 1

humbz Posted August 29 Posted August 29 the absolute absence is beyond frustrating when we have an album full of bops by such a fresh artist with a profile of amazing music videos, choreo and performances. cmon!!!! 3

This is so sad… Normani is RCA's new Tinashe basically… just scrapped/shelved **** all around
selfmadelatino Posted August 29 Posted August 29 What is preventing her from promoting? The lack of it makes it seem like she doesn't care yet she says the opposite. If there's an issue she could speak on it to leverage social media help 2
