punisher Posted April 25 Posted April 25 it's too expensive and it would be so embarrassing to wear outside
dawnettakins Posted April 25 Posted April 25 VR has always and was always going to be a fad. Apple was dumb for jumping into that game, but then again they clearly have no idea what they're doing and are becoming evermore irrelevant. The only thing that's keeping them at all relevant are dumbass Americans and young people who think they're somehow superior walking around with an iPhone.
watermelonshake Posted April 25 Posted April 25 It's cool but it's too expensive. The only people who will be jumping on right now are enthusiasts and they don't make up a huge part of the market.
PopMusicJunkie Posted April 25 Posted April 25 It's a cool piece of tech, but spatial computing isn't replacing lap tops/iPads anytime soon. It's nice to watch movies with — especially in 3D — but the lack of content is shockingly bad.
CécredSpaces Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Apple restricted porn from this product. That alone would have saved it. 1
shookspeare Posted April 26 Posted April 26 literally who wants to strap that to their face to go on the internet
swiftawaywithme Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Good. I'm so sick of the AR/VR fad. Never cared and knew from the start all these companies would be wasting an absurd amount of money. They all really overestimated how much people would care.

And even before that, some companies tried launching VR headsets in the 90s and they completely flopped 20 minutes ago, SoldierofLove said: Right? modeblock Posted April 28 Posted April 28 embarrassing trash, glad it flopped! Version 2 is going to need to be about 10x better and way lighter - no battery pack or whatever - for it to be a success. price needs to be at most $1999
Archetype Posted April 28 Posted April 28 I'm never buying anything to put on my face if it's going to rub off my skincare and sunscreen, as well as lead to easily avoidable wrinkles. All of the demo units in store look nasty around the part that touches your face due to all of the lotions and swear from constantly being worn. And to think this is the nicest VR headset out there… we have a long way to go.
Bubble Tea Posted April 28 Posted April 28 I think techbros/gals think we have more insatiable appetite to be permanently online than we do. In fact, most of my friends are all determindly weaning themselves off their phones and pursuing more and more adventures in nature, time with their family and friends and pets, not literally strapping screens to their eyes to augment reality. Maybe it'd be cute for gaming and entertainment but the last thing I want to see is my reality WITH additional ads. No way not ever!
