Baltie Posted August 7 Posted August 7 I'm honestly more excited about the performances and possible messiness that will occur during the VMAs. The awards itself will most likely be a major snooze fest with Taylor taking all the fan-voted categories (unless they surprise us and give the awards to unlikely winners). I'm heavily rooting for WCBF (WFYL). It rightfully deserves the wins! Von Dutch music video is so iconic too. I hope it snatches that win, honestly. 2
Sexyzinger Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Lame that Doja was mostly snubbed. She put out such exciting visuals this year. PTTR, Agora Hills, and Demons all deserved multiple nominations 6
Alldeezy Posted August 7 Posted August 7 The way I only care for Jack Harlow and that song got overkilled to the point idc for it anymore

Are you implying that people weren't listening and discussing the songs nominated? That's just out of touch Also, I have many critiques about the nominees too, but the VMAs need to have good ratings or at least that's what they care about, we want it or not they will probably get higher viewership just by Taylor sweeping again and showing her dancing in the audience, on top of that add another few A-Listers (Billie, Ariana, Eminem) and they will get what they want if they nominate the "music that people were actually listening" like you said (360) they won't do better audience wise, sad but true
drivers license Posted August 7 Posted August 7 the Greedy snub for main categories in a perfect world, WCBF should clear easily, but... 3
fromily Posted August 7 Posted August 7 (edited) what a joke. charli not even nominated in best pop? I expect this level of disrespect from the grammys, not the vmas edit to add that the best k-pop noms are... a choice Edited August 7 by fromily pure rage 1

Just pick some major artists who had a #1 hit. Meanwhile, where is the actual energy of the zeitgeist right now? Charli XCX and Chappell Roan. 2
LastKiss Posted August 7 Posted August 7 If Taylor wins VOTY it would be possible she annouces Reputa TV for a november release
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted August 7 Posted August 7 23 hours ago, Dolce Vita said: no tinashe after she had one of the biggest viral moments in music this year…i'm so tired of this corny show and its industry politics No one cares who wins VMAs anymore so you can rest easy knowing no one will remember. I am pretty sure they kiss Taylor's ass pretty hard nowadays and give her the majority of the big categories she's nominated in - either that or the awards are fan voted and Swifties completely dominate - can't remember. Either way it's a mess 3 1

Literally the most streamed/highest charting/most talked about RnB track this year. 23 hours ago, Dolce Vita said: no tinashe after she had one of the biggest viral moments in music this year…i'm so tired of this corny show and its industry politics 5 hours ago, Alex said: Doja deserves VOTY they're over for snubbing Tinashe tho Even more annoying when you see what was nominated for Best R&B instead... I had no idea Alicia Keys even released music this eligibility period, and as much as I adore the song, "Made For Me" 's music video is nothing special. Then there's "Water", which is described by Tyla as a blend of amapiano and pop, so it shouldn't be in this category. I'm not getting the hype for "Snooze" either. "Nasty" and "Agora Hills" getting zero nominations was criminal. 1

They're both nominated, and both will most likely attend lol even that doesn't really change the fact that putting them across all the nominations won't give MTV more views than Taylor sweeping, like I said already it's sad but true, and they care about ratings more than anything 1
AlbumOfTheYear Posted August 7 Posted August 7 ARTMS should have gotten a kpop nom because who are these nobodies in the category?
