Since everybody and their grandmas is releasing an album this year, I expect a packed show.

The last ceremony wasn't half-bad, tbh. Easily the best in 5 years.

As a swiftie, please no more album announcements at an awards ceremony on live tv. It's starting to become cringe

I wish they would bring it back to Radio City Music Hall or the Lincoln Center like during their peak.

I hate arenas for award shows. Get them in a theater so all the industry people can sit close together so they can start mess and have fun moments together :coffee:

This, God make it happen. But then again I just remembered that this is mtv VIDEO music awards, and since Bey hasn't released ANY visuals since that side project with Jay Z, I don't think they are even inviting her :gaycat7:

But still it would be nice, one performance from her, one from Taylor, Miley, Billie, Katy can even premiere her new stuff there.... ugh so many ideas

they can introduce new nominations for best lyric video or best teaser :rip:

I'm sure VMA's invite B to perform every year, but we know that she hasn't been interested in it for a long time. So I'm sure that in this era we won't get any performs before tour... again.  :cries:

I need some promo from her. CC is not as GP friendley as expected, so maybe, just one video, maybe something. Or just let this era have a short life and release act iii later this year. And then tour.

But back on VMA's, this year could be good for the views. Last year they had some sucsess, be smart and they can have a cute lil comeback to relevancy among younger ppl

Too many big names dropping first half of the year plus new up and comers making waves rn for them not to put together a good show this year. But it's MTV so can't count them out.

As much as I do enjoy Bad Bunny's music, "MONACO" was quite front-loaded with weak longevity and its music video was pretty by-the-numbers for this type of elite braggadocious atmosphere. And I had everything to be biased as a Formula 1 fan. Doubt it's even going to be nominated, let alone win.

I'd probably replace it with "First Person Shooter" by Drake ft. J. Cole. "On My Mama" and especially "One Of Your Girls" would be super inspired nominations, but ultimately, I think the main fight for this fan-driven award will be a rematch of 2019: "Fortnight" vs. "we can't be friends (wait for your love)", with the winner likely being determined on whoever attends.

Shout-out to Doja Cat's "Agora Hills", Jung Kook's "Standing Next To You", Sabrina Carpenter's "Espresso", and Dua Lipa's "Illusion" as other worthy nomination contenders.
