No one bats an eye if The Rolling Stones release rock album number 47. i think it's enough to move things on a bit to keep it interesting and dua's done that, she doesn't need to be making a nu-metal album or something
campelo Posted April 23 Posted April 23 The 3 songs are sonically other world and they are even better than FN

No surprise a swiftie not wanting people to evolve their sound (even tho this don't apply to Dua) and blaming sexism 1 2
Jeremiah Posted April 23 Posted April 23 She's paying the price for hyping a new sound that's barely there. 1

ARTPØP Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Yasssss queen, drag the chronically online haters who wouldn't even be able to make a pop song to save their lives! ODHs can stay pressed
Miley Cyrus Posted April 23 Posted April 23 I mean there is a breakdown in the song where it sounds like a prolonged duck quacking but other than that... 1

They start at their peak and then just... stay there. Until the song ends All of her new songs are desperately in need of levels. Listen to Physical if you need an example of what's missing lol This

Meloetta Carey Posted April 23 Posted April 23 I think all of her new songs are still in the "retro dance" genre of funk-disco-house-whatever but they do sound a little grittier than FN. She's not completely right but not completely wrong either. The IDGAF vocal with a "retro dance" sound is just kind of her brand at this point. Maybe someone with more musical knowledge can clock me 4
professor2000 Posted April 23 Posted April 23 It's not the exact same as FN, but it's not "worlds apart" either — that's definitely a stretch.

Galah Posted April 24 Posted April 24 She's right and she should say it. "Illusion" is the only song that really bridges sonically between FN and RO imo.
