bielneira Posted April 23 Posted April 23 I didn't find "Houdini" or "Training Season" similar to her previous works. "Illusion" tho... 10 1 1

Illusion is the first song she did for this album with her 'band' so we'll let it slide. They hadn't quite figured out the sound yet.

Cameltoe Chariot Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Well DUA, for me its not that they sound the same literally - its that they all have the same structure and no levels. They start at their peak and then just... stay there. Until the song ends All of her new songs are desperately in need of levels. Listen to Physical if you need an example of what's missing lol 1
Alex Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Honestly, I don't remember people saying Houdini sounded like her previous work (or maybe i'm just not acclimated with low vibrational music consumers) but I always assumed that sentiment was more directed towards Dance The Night no? You would think the fact that there seemed to have been more thought, effort, and punctuality promoting and campaigning for the Barbie song that ultimately overshadowed her upcoming album's lead single, as well as eclipsing the other two singles at the moment, should be more of a concern for her in these new press circuits but alas.
WitnessOblivia Posted April 23 Posted April 23 And she's right. It's just Illusion that sounds FN'd. 1
UnderratedVocalist Posted April 23 Posted April 23 'sonically different' It's generic Pop music, nothing more nothing less 1 6 6
formlessminutiae Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Ended us Unfortunately the melody in Illusion is similar to Love Again but we will let it slide
AvadaKedavra Posted April 23 Posted April 23 (edited) Tea. Dont get why they say that. Her Straight Disco Pop songs like Dance The Night---------------Experimental Pop EDM funky song (Houdini) Edited April 23 by AvadaKedavra 1
BrokenMachine Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Well, she's standing for her own work and I'll give her that
Heldenzeit Posted April 23 Posted April 23 The constant need for females to „evolve their sound" is so stupid. No one bats an eye if The Rolling Stones release rock album number 47. 2
skankle Posted April 23 Posted April 23 They're not identical, but they're not exactly the big departure that Lipsters pretend they are to justify the floppage 3
UnusualBoy Posted April 23 Posted April 23 She didn't lie, just because they're pop songs, it doesn't mean they're alike.
gatito Posted April 23 Posted April 23 it just seemed like she played it too safe after her first too attempts failed and the gp still said no
