Suilen Posted April 22 Share Posted April 22 The thing about this is that I imagine it's already hard to be an openly trans teacher in a place like Texas. For instance, I had to abandon all hopes of being a state/public school teacher due to being trans in my country, and there isn't even a specific law for that. It's just understood that if someone discovers you're trans (very likely to happen during a mandatory medical exam), you're out, and every single school in the city will know about you. So while having a law formally forbidding it sucks, the situation around trans teachers in red states/anti-LBGTQ+ countries is dire as it is.
