ryoncé Posted August 9 Posted August 9 omg why is this literally SO much better than her debut like its crazy that i nearly love every song on this wheras i struggled to even find 1 or 2 i liked on the first one 5
emile20 Posted August 9 Posted August 9 omg, this album is solid the production is immaculate such fun beachy/summer vibes I will be replaying obsessed
professor2000 Posted August 9 Posted August 9 So far, so good. Not her getting a Tyla reject tho lol. No shade b/c I love it. 2
J-esper Posted August 9 Posted August 9 (edited) I am so suprised by how much I enjoy it as a body of work. Her debut was a mixed bag, but this is a a really great curated album. All songs feel like they belong it. Edited August 9 by J-esper
sweetkiss Posted August 9 Posted August 9 (edited) i wish shed drop clean cuts of albums Edited August 9 by sweetkiss
Dottie Hinkle Posted August 9 Posted August 9 This album is so good on repeat. The run from fys to rose>>>> bongo is her best producer

This is closer to the rap/pop/dance sound on her self titled 1
sweetkiss Posted August 9 Posted August 9 i want to root for her, thats why im not giving up on her even though on debut album i revisited cheatback only. this album is in right direction, song that she coproduced (never let you go) is amazing which means even her producing skills are getting better intro was waste of time, redemption being intro was a waste of opportunity, that would be fire track, anderson paak saved her from the gutter feels like, his melody his contribution was out of this world the best songs: boy bye, temporarily single, rose, favorite, never let you go, strawberry lemonade, shake, somebody worst tracks: nice girls finish last, moments, want me where vibe was "ruined" for me was cringe lyrics in want me but i think its just personal, because im sure its relatable to some people, but as some people said explicit lyrics are not good. at least to me, to me that's so dated and cringe. maybe if its one track or if you have clever twist, but so many songs where i hear you are dicked down and now you masturbating... made me think how some critics said she's focusing on male fanbase and they are not the ones consuming your music etc. for women she said "she's a filler" as in she's okay being side chick.. so def exposed as not a "girl's girl" which confirmed critics comments, shes for men im gonna contribute that to her own decision making process cause its tiring blaming labels and age on everything, hell a lot of younger artists than her dropped "more complex songs" lyrics wise so age is not/should not be a reason you're making dumb songs i am happy we got poppy tracks as she shines the best (to me) on those, her voice and delivery i hope this album will do so much better than her debut cause debut is criminally bad
Negiiiii Posted August 9 Posted August 9 I'm actually frustrated…. i still feel like this is not the same girl who released the back to back bangers before her first album. This album is great don't get me wrong. But it's a natural follow up of In Pieces imo… I kinda liked everything. The main issue is that nothing stands out. Redemption was about to be my banger and it got to the next track. Because there is no track that stood out, I feel like this will have very low replay value for me. I needed a « Told Ya ». A track that would « AND I OOOOOOP !? » me from my listening session basically… 1
freshoutthebuffet Posted August 9 Posted August 9 Somebody… wow! What a closer Quote I'm just really feeling like I need somebody I wish I could call you when I need somebody Could you be somebody when I need somebody Body, body, need you

And her scandals were more visible. Sabrina also has been accused of having cringy sexual lyrics. Artists being cringy authentic>>> watering down to listen to online critics (which got us in pieces) Most of chloe's songs sound like she's the one getting cheated on tbh. 1
sleepevaded Posted August 9 Posted August 9 all of the "nothing really stood out" people should realize that they never understood who Chlo was as an artist and that's a personal issue lol. what a GREAT, POLISHED, and mature follow up to In Pieces. it easily is the better body of work and funnily enough as a huge stan since the youtube days i was not fw the snippets, so i'm happily surprised! need vinyls immediately tho. 4
TryMe Posted August 9 Posted August 9 I don't think I will revisit this album as a whole. But I did fave some songs: Redemption Temporarily Single Nice Girls Finish Last Strawberry Lemonade
KatyPrismSpirit Posted August 9 Posted August 9 Love that she fuses afro beats and mellow R&B. The afro-pop songs, in particular, stand out to me. I feel like her dramatic and powerful vocals shine even more on tracks with minimalistic production. Temporarily Single is truly one of my fav songs from her. I also like Moments, Favorite and Might As Well.
EarStyle Posted August 9 Posted August 9 (edited) All I got (free opening) - Very strong opening. Really sets the tone for the album. might as well - r&b Chloe! She's going off. Singing!! You can never go wrong with Ty on a track. She's singing! Something about her going off on track #2. Because this is literally like a "pray it away" 2.0 from the way she attacked this track down to the organ etc. Boy bye - still good and fits perfectly after the last track Redemption - can't believe she let this song be so short. It should be criminal to give snippets of songs so short. Hopefully she gets an opportunity to drop a deluxe with a longer version with a feature or something. Temporarily single - Chloe Braxton! She sounds so good. The song is such a good summer vibe. Love the bridge. The "lately" interpolation and breakdown at the end >>>> this would be a nice urban AC single. Rose - this song gives me the vibe of the album cover if that makes sense. Dark and sexy. I love how she delivers the "I never met a that can love me like I love me" line Favorite - knew this would be a highlight after she previewed this. This album is just so much better than the debut. Same Lingerie - she's singing! Never Let You Go - YG Marley was a good addition to this. Song was kinda typical afrobeats for me and then he kind of help lift this one up a bit. Not my fav, but also not bad. Want Me - sure this is one that many can relate to. I love the song. Can't wait for the next CxH project. Moments - I kind of drifted off listening to this one. Fys - song production and composition wise is still so good. Always thought the chorus was a bit lazy, but def a really good song, especially the ending. nice girls finish last - this is a bedroom banger strawberry lemonade - always gave diet espresso/say so vibes to me. It's chill. shake - wasn't looking forward to this from the live performances but it came out better than expected somebody - this one is ok. Gives me Rita Ora in her more interesting roc nation/Columbia days. Edited August 9 by EarStyle 1
OrgVisual Posted August 9 Posted August 9 Strawberry Lemonade Same Lingerie Moments Favourite So good
hallucinate Posted August 9 Author Posted August 9 11 hours ago, hallucinate said: fave tracks on first listen: redemption temporarly single rose favorite same lingerie never let you go want me nice girls finish last strawberry lemonade might as well and somebody are skips for me tbh too late to edit this post so i'll just quote myself but FYS and Boy Bye are also great, just didn't include them in my OP cause they were released as singles before 11/16 for me
ariesgroove Posted August 9 Posted August 9 shake sounded so much better on the album, when she previewed it on tour i was so skeptical
