The 2024 Latin Grammy Awards, which celebrates the Latin Recording Academy's 25th edition, will be held on November 14th. After last year's stint in Spain, the ceremony will be returning to the US and held in Miami at the Kaseya Center. Nominations were announced on September 17th, with producer/songwriter Édgar Barrera leading with 9 nominations and Karol G & Bad Bunny leading with 8 nominations amongst performers.

Two new categories were added: Best Latin Electronic Music Performance, housed within the new Electronic Music Field, and Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album (in the Regional-Mexican Field).

In May, Carlos Vives was named the 2024 Person of the Year.

 

Eligibility period: June 1, 2023 - May 31, 2024

First round of voting: July 24 - August 5

Second round of voting: September 27 - October 10

18-time Latin Grammy and 2-time Grammy Award winner Carlos Vives was named the 2024 Person of the Year. The Colombian singer's career spans over 30 years and has sold over 20 million records worldwide.

Unfortunately it's not public, each year we have to rely on publications mentioning some submissions or voters who are willing to tell us what they see on the ballots.

Shakira nominated for Album of the Year and Song of the Year for (Entre Parentesis) :alexz:

 

The album didn't get a genre nomination for Pop album though and her other nomination is a Tiesto Remix of the Bizarrap Session 53 for Best Latin Electronic Music Performance :rip:

so shocked. Mexican singers Humbe and Danna deserved at least one nom. but can someone explain how tf an album that already got one latin grammy can get a nomination with a reedition?

because it's not a reedition, it's a completely new EP with new songs. Like The Fame Monster.

I know neither will win but Carín León's and Kany García's albums are my top 2 for AOTY :jonnycat:
