Popular Post lustforyou Posted April 22 Popular Post Posted April 22 This song is so infectious. A lot of typical female pop star-fans are saying it's slow/etc, but to me this sounds like all of Post's mega smashes. I can hear his influences on the writing of its melody extremely clearly, and I think that's why it's by far the catchiest song on the whole Anthology. Taylor is great at writing catchy "standard" pop smashes (Anti-Hero, Cruel Summer, all 1989 singles lmao, etc) and introspective, diaristic deep cuts (all of folklore and evermore, several on TTPD, most of her earlier work, etc), but she kinda struggles when trying to create a catchy "vibey" song in my opinion. I think she's tried before on songs like False God, Midnight Rain (which I love), etc, and I think they fall in this weird space of not being a "bop" but not being a song you want on repeat 10 times in a row to vibe to. Fortnight reminds me of Sunflower, Better Now, Circles, etc in that none of those are immediate, none of them are songs you wanna scream to, but they just worm their way into your head and you find yourself randomly wanting in on repeat for your whole drive because just as the song is about to end you're like "wait, come back". 17 3
HalSmoker Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Posts part its my favorite one... a little harder drum could benefit the song in my opinion.

sxmescudi Posted April 24 Posted April 24 are y'all lying and/or stanning success only? this is her worst lead single - just when you thought it couldn't get any worse with Me! 2 1 2 5
NEX Posted April 24 Posted April 24 I'm just noticing that the instrumental part between the first chorus and the second verse is a lot longer in the video while she's moving from one room to another. But she also kinda doesn't start singing at the right place? Should have been two more beats before the lyrics. Or is it just me?
ImpressMeMuch Posted April 24 Posted April 24 this and we can't be friends fit so good together and this isn't a snide comment, I love both girls
Blue. Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Is this debuting at #1? I wonder if she will be the one at least tying the Beatles 20 #1 hits as we once thought Rihanna would.

Well this is going to be her 12th number 1 and if she gets two more number ones this year then yeah..shes on course and next year she's gonna get a guaranteed number 1 off of Rep TV.
