fridayteenage Posted August 2 Posted August 2 gawd, i hope that country man doesn't pass her this week. maybe she'll pull out the collector's editions again for the other covers at least.

The confluence of the Poets/Eras era and the Brat era would be super fascinating to see. I don't look forward to accusations of Taylor biting off part of Charli's cultural moment and all that, but I suppose it's worth dealing with stupidity like that to watch my worlds collide that way. Her voice would sound great on Sympathy, too - and to have Taylor touch the hyperpop sphere would be one of the coolest things she could do and would instantly commercially elevate an underrated genre. For various reasons I'm unsure whether it would ever really happen, but I'm down for it if it does. I think it would be one of my favorite tracks and pop culture moments ever, easily. Exactly! It'll be worth it tbh. Hearing Taylor on a track like that and momentarily diving into what seems to be the online zeitgeist record and era would be amazing. It's one of those moments that truly make pop music FUN AF. It's left field, unexpected and fun AF. She'll be criticized by some but I genuinely think this could also help in some ways because a big criticism some of Taylor's haters have of her is she takes herself too seriously (which I dont think is true at all lol) and/or that she is too calculated but being involved in a Brat track on short notice and at random, with hyperpop beats and on a remix of a song about her? Now that's literally the best way to dispel those accusations Plus we all know Taylor will never make hyperpop music so being on a remix of such a good hyperpop song like Sympathy is a Knife would be the perfect opportunity for her to dable into that sound without ever really doing it herself for one of her records. 1
Arrows Posted August 2 Posted August 2 Fortnight could've really been a massive smash with punchier drums and vocals, huh?
wastedpotential Posted August 2 Posted August 2 I will say I've taken a few days away from TTPD to re-evaluate my scores for the discography rate, but I just went through The Apotheosis front to back (except Kim ofc) for the first time in probably a week and whew Like maybe I'm a delulu stan but what are people hearing when they call this bad? I really just have to believe they're biased and looking for things to hate because I'm just NOT getting it otherwise 3
wastedpotential Posted August 2 Posted August 2 ALSO re Taylor on a Sympathy Is A Knife verse, I think that would be ******* insane and not super likely (imagine the meta commentary on the boyfriend line lol) but Taylor's done a lot of surprising things lately 1

This is what people get wrong about Taylor Swift, even among her own fanbase: she's not actually interested in being richer, she's interested in being as big as possible commercially. She never came across as a money-hungry person, ever. But she DOES care a lot about being on top and all her decisions those last few years are perfectly coherent with that goal. Taylor has always been hungry for success and legacy, always. And that's NOT a bad thing, no matter how much ATRL/stan twitter try to rewrite history and act as if being ambitious is somehow "evil". I'm really glad to see Taylor doing what EVERY pop star should do instead of hiding behind this hypocritical "ambition is bad" BS that several of her peers have used to make themselves look "nice" in public. They ALL want success, they're just not as successful as Taylor in getting it, especially when it comes to pure sales. EVERY pop star would do the exact same thing Taylor is doing if they thought their fans would actually buy their products. 5

Taylor fanboy Posted August 2 Posted August 2 Spring - Fortnight Summer - ICDIWABH What's our fall single bets? I'd imagine Republic would want to extend the era and widen the SPS gap for the YE BB200 No. 1.

Magickarp Posted August 3 Posted August 3 The way that "RECORD STORE DAY" calendar in the TTPD teaser video was accurate

It's way better for radio than GAS, especially the clean version which is superior in every way. 1

mael Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Can we move on to Guilty as Sin? already? That other single already flopping even with the radio payola.. 2 1
Nick_317 Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Is it just me or does this album makes you want to just drop everything (now) and slap, punch, kick or body someone? Like my masc4masc side comes out the moment the album starts playing and no Taylor album has done that before And OTHs really say all her albums sound the same
IBeMe Posted August 3 Posted August 3 tbh I wouldnt mind if she skips Down Bad as a single. It's a cute song but it doesnt do much to showcase other sides of the album or a new part of her artistry to the GP. Guilty as Sin? on the other hand does ALL of that. It's the perfect fall single too since it's a lot sexier and kinda darker in a way...imagine listening to it in the rain while you're on the bus heading to work or school in a warm sweater...there's something about it lol. Then when it's close to Xmas she can release physicals of The Anthology for the holiday sales boost and have So High School as the 4th and final single so it can help promote the release of the physical edition of The Anthology (she'd secure another like 800k week ). Perfect era imo 1 1

It's not bad tbh....by the time it gets to like 40 million radio audience she should release a ton of remixes, discount it, have physical copies of the single and release a tour mv (like the lyric video but better) to secure a week at #1
IBeMe Posted August 3 Posted August 3 I have a feeling she's going to release a mv for Broken Heart as a thank you the day that she scores that 13th week at #1 for TTPD. 1

I noticed the lyric video is now first on the YouTube ttpd playlist so I'm guessing it's coming Ngl it's funny seeing how everyone was begging for this to be a single and now that she listened it's "what a dumb single, what a regressive single, what a dumb move, what was she thinking, etc etc" Cause from what I gathered there was to be no other singles for this until stans started saying how viral it was and how wasted it would be to let it die Edited August 3 by Starchild 2 1
