Add Nicki to this conversation and you're absolutely right? They're all envious and bitter lunatics.

Except it's 100% accurate when it comes to Nicki. She IS a bad person.

There's at least 6 new threads every day focused on Taylor or implying she is bad morally, or bad at being a songwriter. Truly the only artist on this pop culture forum that generates that level of discussion and yet people are quick to dismiss she isn't the it girl of the mpgs. I have to laugh.

This right there really shows how the discourse around Taylor has gotten from not liking her to straight up mental illness. Taylor is OBJECTIVELY a great songwriter, even some of the more mixed reviews for TTPD talked about how great the lyricism was.

The way OTHs have to entirely discredit her because they can't stand the idea of giving her even a little bit of credit is beyond laughable.

She's selling a massive amount of albums = It's just 100K people buying the album over and over.

She's outstreaming everybody in the game = It's streaming farms.

She has some goofy lyrics here and there = She's the worst songwriter ever.

She's not as much as a powerhouse vocalist as Whitney, Mariah or even Beyonce = She can't sing at all.

I could go on and on and on. This desperation to convince everyone and themselves that she's the worst thing that ever happened in music is, as i said, straight up mental illness at this point. There's other pop stars out there who are WAY less talented than Taylor in every objective metrics, like Britney Spears, Rihanna, Selena Gomez,... who don't get nowhere near this kind of vitriolic "talentless" accusations. It's really all about vibes, not reality.

I do agree that she needs some time off after the eras tour,to breathe, relax and figure out her next era hopefully with a slate of new producers and a fresh sound.she needs to get out of the spotlight and then stage a new era in  the biggest way possible with smashes. She has a huge fanbase that will welcome her with open arms. she'll probably end up as the biggest artist of this decade whatsoever.

Have you been spying on her or living under the same roof with her to know that?

You might think that the public discourse will change, but it won't. They'll move the goalpost even if she changed EVERYTHING for the next era. Then they'll just say she changed because she was criticized. These people will never like her, even if she solved World Hunger. You can tell that some of them just like to hate her for absolutely no reason.

His physicals are very weak, his last album did great mostly cause of the streamings and singles

If you notice, a lot of TTPD songs have super catchy lines that stick in your head even more than the full songs, I don't know how to explain it.

I will give some examples: "straight from the tortured poets department"

"am i allowed to cry?"

"like I've lost my twin"

and many others.

Have you ever noticed it?

Do we think she could pull of 11 weeks at #1 like Fearless/1989 did?

Are there any major releases coming up? If not, she can absolutely do it.

Guilty As Sin? being her 5th most popular track on Spotify 🥹

Are y'all ready to acknowledge how legendary this song is yet - the flow, the production, the melody, the lyrics? Been a fan of her since 2008 and TTPD still ranks somewhere in the middle of her discography for me. I still like it, I just like some of her other works more. It was a little bloated with filler but with some extremely high highs and moments.

But this song, this. song. It's top five easily. It fits the vibe of the OG cover art perfectly, and is what I expected the album to be as a whole.

I would be so invested in her exploring this melancholic / ethereal sound more.

...yeah that should be fine. I just hope Imagine Dragons is not gonna potentially get the #1, i have no idea how relevant they still are at this point.

their last album did 91k in the US. Could potentially be a threat, but I also have no idea of their popularity at the moment. I think they're pretty much irrelevant, no? :rip:

I wonder how Gracie's album will do in a post-Eras opener world and the inclusion of a Taylor collab. Her other releases never did numbers but Risk and Close to You have made the most immediate noise out of any of her singles thus far, with the latter to become her highest charting song and only charting song after her remix of a Noah Kahan song.

I know I personally snatched a signed copy of the vinyl off her store because I absolutely adore those 2 songs and have high expectations. :-* If recent releases have proved anything (Charli, Sabrina, Chappell...) it's that momentum can quickly build even after years of middling commercial performance. If by some miracle she suddenly exceeds expectations, I doubt Taylor would make any moves to block ddd.

I mean, after Charli debuted with around 80k copies, I don't think Gracie can beat that. I can be surprised though

The way I was like "didn't their album already come out?" but I was just mixing them up with Twenty-One Pilots :rip:

Eminem is rumored to be dropping any time this summer, maybe even in the next few weeks. I just need TTPD to make it to 10 weeks before that happens, and then she can go for a personal best record (12+ weeks) later this summer, hopefully.

She's actually leaving the charts next week, I don't know if you've seen but people are saying this will be her downfall!

At the very least, it'll be interesting to see how much the Taylor affiliation can contribute to boosting her profile :jonny: if she does overperform though, I'm sure all the THOTs will be clamoring to discredit her impact anyway ddd

This is probably the biggest grower of the album for me :jonny:
