I don't really get this thinking tbh. I mean I agree it'll have longevity, but what about its performance would make you need to preface this with "it may not be the mega smash of the moment" It may have a ton of sudden (questionable…) competition on the charts, but it's very much one of the mega smashes of the moment. We all agreed Anti-Hero was a huge smash and this is doing quite a bit better, so 2

Achilles. Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 Tortured Poets has just entered my top 20 most played albums of all time, replacing Troye Sivan's Blue Neighbourhood (which was the only album by a male artist in my top 20). It also enters my top 5 most played releases of the 2020s, replacing Halsey's If I Can't Have Love I Want Power. It trails folklore, evermore, Midnights, and SOS. Everybody say "thank you, The Anthology." 1 1

Buffy Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 She needs to release at least 3 more songs to radio. This album has legs. 2

Guilty As Sin should be next! while my fav song with msot single potential is Guilty As Sin? I do think she should capitalize on Broken Heart's hype. If she doesnt make it the 2nd single it might fizzle out by the time she does make it a single. It has potential to have a top 10 residency tbh. Guilty As Sin can definetly wait and be the 3rd or fourth single because it hasn't been mega streamed yet by the GP so it will have potential to smash down the line whereas Broken Heart needs to be released ASAP since it is being consumed A LOT by the GP already Singles: 1. Fortnight 2. I Can Do It With a Broken Heart 3. Guilty As Sin? 4. Down Bad end era or release So High School & But Daddy I Love Him to different radio formats 1

Broken Heart, Down Bad and Guilty As Sin all gave great potential tbh
fridayteenage Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 if she ever releases a physical of the anthology, i assume so high school would be a single 1

IBeMe Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 what frustrates me a little about some reviews is that A LOT of the albums lyrics are humorous / meant to be funny or sarcastic but it seems like NO ONE is picking up on that except the fans which is so annoying lol. Either that or these ppl are picking up on it but just choosing to act like they arent so they can score points of loling at her for certain lyrical choices. Like the amount of ppl taking the charlie puth, chocolate bars and smelling like babies or weed lines so seriously or out of context is WILD AF lol. I genuinely just don't get it 14

I genuinely just don't get it this, the sarcastic humor to go with depression theme is what make this album so special for me, cause i`m also use humor to cope with my depress moments in life. nowadays people just take everything at face value and dont want to have fun lol 6

I honestly think that plays a role for the more online people. 3 3

I genuinely just don't get it I feel like a lot of the public refuse to believe she's in on the joke or that it's intentional. See: that video of her dancing in the Delicate video that goes viral on X every fortnight and everyone ignores the entire point of the video. Most of her peers are always trying to position themselves as either untouchable or super self-serious artists or cool/aloof/unaffected whereas she's always positioned herself as a relatable counterpoint. I think a lot of her being comfortable in embracing the things that make people cringe rubs up against people's own insecurities so they hate the parts of them they see in her. edit: I'm mostly just using this as a jumping off point for a general discussion on the way people receive her. It's okay if people genuinely don't click with a lyric or something nnn but people divorcing things from the context to **** on her or make her art seem dumb has become a common occurrence Edited May 15, 2024 by Kyle-x 4

He's a music enthusiast and finds appreciation across many different artists in different genres, and it pains me when I see Swiffers try to besmirch his name just because he isn't enamored with 100% of her catalogue in the way we are That's not how casual listeners (non-stans) consume music. 1

And even though many of the songs are based on the same experiences as the main album, I feel that the writing on Anthology is oddly way less obvious about it—though I can't really explain how.
