publikcitizen Posted April 21 Posted April 21 Just finished this season and it was really hard to watch. The ending was uncomfortable. Spoiler I can't believe he went back to his rapist just to get a job especially now what he knows about his dad being molested. That was just difficult for me to watch. I wish we could've also seen Teri and Donny reconcile but as friends because she would understand now. 1
Uncatena Posted April 21 Posted April 21 (edited) this was... a revelation. the best Netflix original since Russian Doll and one of their best ever. Richard Gadd, as a writer and actor, has an incredible voice and I cannot commend his bravery enough. Not to go into detail but this show triggered a lot of things for me and I could deeply identify with Donny. It made me emotionally confront a lot of things that I normally wouldn't and for that, this is a masterpiece alone. Edited April 21 by ChapelHooker 5

Obviously I'm joking about Martha being an icon, but I said that right before ep. 4 where the show takes a turn and digs deeper into mental health and other issues. i def identify with Donny a lot as well, for me it was the part of going back to person that hurt you and obsessing over on the why's. great show! 3
The Witch Posted April 24 Posted April 24 SO GOOD. Finished it up in one sitting Richard Gadd fine af @Leptine @Reverse Warholian 3
punisher Posted April 24 Posted April 24 I'm so glad cardi is stanning this show too! im up to episode 5 its so good 1
Daddy Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Not the first woman coming forward talking about her work relationship with the writer. He really took his trauma and recreated it. It's fascinating. 1 1
Nebur Posted April 24 Posted April 24 (edited) I just finished this show this morning, and it completely grabbed me. the monologue of epi 6 brought me to tears and that ending... wow without a doubt this will be a barrier to future awards shows just like BEEF did Netflix should make more series like this without so much budget ONLY QUALITY, everything was so raw, comical, REAL, desperate I'm glad I saw it by chance Edited April 24 by Nebur 2
Littlejfrey Posted April 28 Posted April 28 This was really good Richard and Jessica deserve lots of recognition, specially Jessica who constantly made me fluctuate between feeling angry, scared and sadness with her performance 2
Orsay Posted April 28 Posted April 28 This was so gripping. The level of vulnerability and strength for Richard Gadd to come forward with this story and reenact it is commendable, extremely raw and I think very resonating especially for a lot of young people today. Jessica's performance was OUTSTANDING as well, wow wow 5 1
Hector Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Picking up more steam in US viewership: Though "Baby Reindeer" landed at No. 2 with just over half of "Fallout's" viewership total (647.4 million minutes), it actually reached a higher number of estimated viewers. With a 238-minute runtime, the British limited series reached an estimated 2.7 million viewers. https://variety.com/2024/tv/news/baby-reindeer-under-the-bridge-luminate-ratings-1235983842/ Up from 1.4 million viewers the previous week. The Limited Series Emmy race feels like it'll be between this, Shogun, or Fargo.
Tiziano's Boy Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Watching this now and I feel very uneasy watching it, which obviously I know I'm supposed to feel. This is getting so much harder to watch as victim of sexual abuse, minus the stalking, my heart goes out to him and anyone else who has been in similar situations Spoiler That scene where Martha grabbed him and started fondling him, that triggered me so much, I was sexually assaulted by an older man in a toilet a few years ago, and he did the exact same thing that Martha did to Donny in that scene, the same position that Donny was in too, backed up against the wall, arms by his side, then I thought the same as Donny, why did I freeze, why didn't I stop it?

Blade Runner Posted April 29 Posted April 29 Episode 4 destroyed me. I had to take a 3 day break just to keep watching this.
Donquizote Posted April 29 Posted April 29 This is a good, new, and fresh show from netflix after so many bad shows they've been releasing since last year Spoiler The ending left me shocked though.
TeamThiem Posted April 29 Posted April 29 I decided to press play and finished the entire series in one day! Now this is a great show that makes you feel a swirl of different emotions for the lead characters. Highly recommend. 2
Cottonmouth Posted April 29 Posted April 29 I didn't really like this. The actress who played Martha was great though. I liked the final episode too. I thought the outcome of one particular scene was interesting. 1
Spicy_TyTy Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Richard, Jessica and Nava gave amazing performances. Great dark comedy when it needs to be but also very dark as to be expected. I really hope Richard sweeps awards season, his breakdown onstage was the highlight of the series for me. 2
Almodusa Posted April 30 Posted April 30 This was great Martha's actress played that really well and he was just great 2
Hector Posted April 30 Posted April 30 A global smasha. I see awards season showering this with nominations already. 1

Roberto Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Honestly, poor guy. At some point, knowing this was a true story, it was devastating to watch, tbh. 1
