Chemist Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Blur headlined in 2013 btw so the no having hits in the US argument was not a thing back then

It makes sense this crowd wouldn't know Blur.

Dracula Posted April 15 Posted April 15 I like Damon, but.. the only Blur song here that was a hit at all is 'Song 2'.. in 1997. Coachella was not the crowd for them at all. The audience is way too young and is more focused on their outfits and filming themselves than on the music.
Digitalism Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Americans being proud of being ignorant and full of themselves UK rock singers? Some things never change
ParisTexas Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Pls, I wish I could've afforded to attend and see them live, Blur's one of my fav bands but yeah, not surprising to see the crowd deader than the dead sea.
Maroonx Posted April 16 Posted April 16 what did he expect from a festival catered primarily to tiktokers and Gen Zs... sorry babes x
truthteller Posted April 16 Posted April 16 The demographic of Coachella attendees has changed a lot.
Letemtalk Posted April 16 Posted April 16 The top post on this video pretty much sums it up. Quote This is what happens when a festival is dominated by influencers who don't really care about the performers but themselves.
campelo Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Coachella has the worst crowd of festivals, what was he expecting?
Polgg48 Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Quote Janelle is a potential headliner now, we're so far from smaller fonts ot: both him and grimes had trouble on their sets, time changes.
Batsy Armada Posted April 17 Posted April 17 That's not a good way to make new fans and have them want to support you. Assuming there is a generational divide, simply go on with the attitude as if you were just starting out because, in a manner of speaking, you absolutely are if you're playing to a crowd that's unfamiliar with your music. It's been said for ages now, you have to know your audience. That ego has to be put to the side.
