Do you think they would answer the new it girls like Gaga, Zendaya, Jenna, Sydney, Anya or even Saoirse?

so you agree that it takes more than 2 movies to become A-list and that they'd name 5 A-list actresses. great point.

You still dont get my point right? I was saying that you can be an A List actress without being named instantly by some people on the streets. The GP tend to name the veteran acts but that does not mean the new IT girls arent A Listers. They are just not off the top of the GPs head. But based on salary and the way they are being casted, they can still be A Listers at the moment, all they need is to prove their staying power.

Gaga is an A list celebrity, yes.

If her music career did not exist, you think the one movie she does every 3 years should put her on the same level as any of those actresses?   Is Ariana Grande suddenly an A-List actress because she is being paid millions for Wicked? Be logical for like 2 seconds.

Your expectations are unrealistic.
 

You're expecting Gaga to organically build her acting career from the ground up with many projects, starting as a virtually unknown talent, like thousands others, to A-list by doing small indie films and slowly graduating to more notorious roles, building a reputation.
That's unrealistic. She CANNOT do that. She's Lady f*cking Gaga. She went into acting and shot straight to the top, obviously, and proved her worth at the highest level and succeeded. It's done. She skipped the line to A-list. Was it fair? make a thread crying about it, we don't care.

 

it's simply unreasonable to expect Gaga to build her acting career from the ground up like other aspiring actors. Her first role was AHS and instantly earned her an acting Golden Globe, she had a run in with Leonardo Dicaprio which became international news for WEEKS. And from there it's been nothing but success. A-lister NO QUESTION.

So by that logic Taylor Swift is the biggest A-List actress ever since she was in The Giver and Cats? the "Katy" in my username must triggering for some reason cause I've done nothing but compliment Gaga and call her an a list celeb and box office draw  she has the potential to get there but one movie every three years does not an A List actress make, nor is it an unrealistic expectation

It's not the same. That user was arguing that ActressGa can be considered A-List due to her name/celebrity in addition to the fact that her major roles have been met with success and acclaim both critically and within the industry. As an actress, Taylor doesn't have a respected or acclaimed role.

Madonna got a golden globe for Evita. Why didn't that other user list her when naming a-list actresses of the 90s?
