nostalgia Posted April 13 Posted April 13 "I did not steal anything," JoJo told TMZ April 12. "There's no such thing as stealing." 1
Poxy Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Joni getting her controversy IN, woo her can't be tamed era indeed!
MatiRod Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Times are tough for the gays if this is the pop girl feud du jour 7
midnightdawn Posted April 13 Posted April 13 For someone who has been in this industry for so long Jojo doesn't seem to know how to handle the media and p.r 3 1
aesthetic bih Posted April 13 Posted April 13 What? I swore I read somewhere that she admitted that Karma was a demo she purchased and just recorded her vocals in it. And now she's singing a different tune

IBeMe Posted April 13 Posted April 13 I'm worried…she's getting way too much attention which means she might actually make it in like three or four years after an image and personality re brand and she'll look back in these moments and make light of them and the gp will start to love her and ish which I guess is a good thing? Idk
Joyride Posted April 13 Posted April 13 all jokes aside, can you blame her though? It was an unreleased track by a nobody at the time it was crafted. they probably used her final take as a demo and called it a day.
Dante Silva Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Why is everyone suddenly pretending to be stupid? Most ATRL'rs have a greater level of pop culture knowledge than an average member of the public, yet y'all are now pretending not to know standard industry practice of songs being passed around and tried out by different artists before they finally land with one in particular. By the same logic Britney would be attacked for recording "Toxic" a song written for and rejected by Kylie Minogue's A&R (much like "Karma" was by Brit Smith). 5 2

You're acting dense too… The problem is Jojo is claiming to write music she's bought and degraded from other artists.

The gp doesn't check stuff like this out in public she's claiming to write her music and acting like she's inventing a new genre when she's just buying demos from other artists. The other song she bought doesn't even have her vocals on it.
The7thStranger Posted April 13 Posted April 13 I still can't shake the impression that she's trolling all of us. 4

The other song she bought doesn't even have her vocals on it. This stuff happens all the time. However people tend to pick and choose what artists they come for (and what ones they don't). Yes, I do recall JoJo saying she wanted to invent a genre called "Gay Pop". One (of the many other) criticisms levelled against JoJo is supposedly how much better the studio production on the Brit Smith version of "Karma" is, over JoJo's. Perhaps the difference in production styles (between the separate Brit and JoJo version's of "Karma”) - is the actual definition of the "Gay Pop" sound on JoJo's version? The production sound JoJo wishes to establish as being definitive of the "Gay Pop" genre that she wishes to birth in to the world. Edited April 13 by Dante Silva
Erreur2 La Nature Posted April 13 Posted April 13 I have never seen anyone hurting her image more with every new interview she does. It's getting worse every day and she is going to receive even more hate from the internet if she doesn't get help about how she should communicate. She needs to hire a PR team or something cause it is a disaster for her lmao. How are you saying that there is no such thing as stealing ? And you add that you have no idea who Britt Smith is lmaoooo
newaespa Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Definitely the new Mariah Carey From the looks to talent to personality wise

Brit's interview with PageSix was top notch. She had every opportunity to throw Jojo under the bus...re: songwriting + them saying Brit's version sounded better…but she didn't. She gave love + showed respect. For a nobody she has way better media training than Jojo, which is crazy. 5

While she technically never said she wrote the song…the way she speaks about it makes it seem like there was some massive overhaul on the track. The bridge was a nice addition though.
