Platinum at the time was for 2 million sales and it was the best selling physical single in the history of Atlantic Records with 4 million sales.

it has about 236M combined on Spotify which is low considering how huge it's physical sales were. it would not be in the top 200 for the 70's  with the combined streams. it would probably be in the top 10 among physical sales though.
