Xtina23 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 challenge your ops, that's what I do on a daily basis and look better than them all! okurrrr
Onyxmage Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Its all about calorie deficit. You can eat bad foods (although I wouldnt advise it) and still lose weight. As long as you are burning more calories than you take in. With that being said if you arent exercising much just dont eat as many snacks and try to include some fruits and vegetables in your diet. Stay away from bread as much as you can and you can easily lose weight without really trying.
Happylittlepunk Posted April 10 Posted April 10 I use to weight 300 pounds and the easiest and healthiest way I lost weight was just eating fruit, protein shakes, and protein bars/energy bars. never went hungry had my 2 meals a day and lost a ton of weight in just 2 months. 50 pounds in total. I have diabetes so I always had to check my blood sugar and I was fine the entire time. I did drink a lot of water though.

bad guy Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Caloric deficit + water + exercise 5 times a week. Eat cleaner proteins as well (chicken/fish). But are you trying to lose weight or lose FAT? Because that's two different things. 2
NoOneDiesFromLove Posted April 10 Posted April 10 I dropped like 15 kgs in my teens by gulping water in between every bite of any meal and some more after. I started peeing a lot too
family.guy123 Posted April 10 Posted April 10 (edited) Don't eat anything that your great grandparents wouldn't recognize as food Don't eat anything that has an ingredient list/more than one ingredient Shop the perimeter of the grocery store only Go to bed hungry Nothing but water for drinks Or else you can literally eat anything you want, just so long as you burn more calories that day. Sedentary humans burn like 2,000 calories just by existing so just eat less than that. Want an 1800 calorie kfc dinner? That's okay, but that's it for the day. Edited April 10 by family.guy123 1
Kassi Posted April 10 Posted April 10 2 hours ago, Solaria said: Also I don't wanna hear none of that low-carb ****. I know it works for some but I've tried it in the past and it absolutely is NOT for me. I just wanted to elaborate once on this, cause I think you made a good point. At the end of the day, all diets are the same and fail for the same reasons: They work because you eliminate calories. They fail because you substitute calories. If you don't want to do keto (low carb), you absolutely do NOT have to. In fact, when it comes to diet, you can simplify further with these 3 steps: Find out your target calories using a TDEE calculator: https://tdeecalculator.net/ Find out your protein calories using the 30% rule: total calories x 0.3 (Note: if you divide that number 4, you can find the grams of protein) Subtract protein calories from total calories and eat WHATEVER else you want up to the total calorie amount every single day Ex. 2200 total calories - 2200x0.3 protein calories = 1540 calories of anything else you want... Super tip: Once you know your numbers... if you eat the SAME foods everyday, you've won the game. That's the ultimate cheat code. Since there's no way to **** it up. But it's easy to get bored, so it just depends on your need for variety. 2
Tudors Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Try intermittent fasting where you eat 8 hours a day and starve for the rest. It works
Støned Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Intermittent Fasting + Calorie Count + Apple Cider Vinegar (I take this during fasting phase to reduce hunger pangs)
CottageHore Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Congrats on doing it healthily! My eating disorder'd ass started trying to lose weight without restriction this year and progress is slower so it pisses my mentally ill brain off but I'm getting way more toned and feel way mentally healthier. I prioritize moving my body as much as possible. In moments when I'd typically be sedentary, I simply choose not to be. I walk constantly. I walk typically 2-4 miles a day, some days I do HIIT, and every day I do some form of weight training. I count my calories simply because it keeps me from binging and restricting- knowledge of what you put in your body is always power. If you're trying to do it healthy, it has to be done through a lifestyle change. No crash diets. No unrealistic expectations. Just prioritize working more movement into your daily routine and do so in ways that will become life-long. Cut that 3 hours of watching TV at night down to 1.5 and go for a nice walk, put some good music on or a podcast, and walk until you can't anymore. You'll drop weight consistently over time
BraveNewSeth Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Great tips in here, but one big thing I didn't notice mentioned yet: cut out carbonated drinks.
Kern Posted April 10 Posted April 10 It's good to keep track on calories in the beginning. Once you learn how much food daily is good for you, you can eat intuitively. To lose fat you need to eat less calories than you burn during the day... So obviously excersise will help with burning calories and eating less food will help with not having too much of them in the first place. Avoid foods with high amount of FAT and focus on protein instead. Carbs are importnat for energy to excersise That's kind of all there is to it
Harrier Posted April 10 Posted April 10 I lost 14kg (30 pounds) last year doing 16/8 intermittent fasting & walking every day. Also eliminated all drinks that have calories from my diet sans coffee But then an ATRLer posted an article about fasting being linked to heart failure so idk maybe im gonna die so dont copy me
Gesamtkunstwerk Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Eat filling and nutritious meals that doesn't leave you hungry after an hour, avoid ultra processed food. Tbh exercise doesn't really help on the weight without the diet part, but it's healthy regardless so I'd only encourage it.

makeawish Posted April 10 Posted April 10 walk a lot, drink pepsi max when you want something sweet. re cravings, aim just to get thru the first few days, it gets easier after that. don't eat pizza. this is the way
shinyshimmery Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Sugar will f*** you up immediately. Also, foods high in sodium. Avoid foods containing too high of glucose (sugar) and too high sodium (salt) Drink a lot of water. Personally, I started my weightloss journey in Feb of this year. I'm down 8 lbs as of today, which I know isn't extreme but a win is a win. What works for me is working out consistently.... I have tried to diet and eat healthy... and I will for like months at a time but then I get lazy with food prep and end up eating junk. So my workout is very unorthodox but I HIGHLY recommend it. I got myself a PS2, hear me out... yeah the gaming system that came out in 2000... you can get them for cheap on ebay. Then, I got myself the dance dance revolution extreme game (has to be the one with the green cover) and the dance pad. This is all probably linked to nostalgia for me, but when I was a teenager I lost a ton of weight playing this game. If you ever do get this setup... I recommend doing 40-50 mins on just the dancing part, at some point you'll unlock "endless mode" and you can go up to as many songs as you want with periodic breaks. What REALLY makes me sweat is "party mode" (only available on the green cover game) there's a running game that will get your heart rate up... I do 3 rounds of it (10 stages each). This is where I burn most of my calories. I've been burning 800-1000 calories each workout. I have tried many many things to lose weight... in my 30s, it's really fuggin hard! so far, I am engaged with this game, I am working out a lot more consistently, and i still indulge on weekends. As long as I am working out, I am dropping weight.
barbiegrande Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Eating between a 10 hour window and not indulging in junk food usually helps me lose consistently
Johnny Jacobs Posted April 10 Posted April 10 i always had a fit somewhat muscular body but during covid i gained like 20kg. i lost them back in 3 months. i did keto + i walked 10kil a day with my boyfriend. honestly my boyfriend is ripped and loves the gym so he helped me with motivation and company so find someone to be your anchor. (even tho he said he loved my chunk ) so yeah. a good diet a good exercise but mostly my tip is to work hard mentally. i had trouble resisting pasta. it was my love. i allowed myself one cheat meal a week. it can help without breaking it.
Love4Janet Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Intermittent fasting. I eat at the same times every day (12 PM and 6 PM) and consume nothing but water at all other times. Your stomach will shrink pretty quickly and will feel full from smaller amounts of food Focus on eating foods that are low in calories but filling. Source: I'm skinny
