And it's lowkey giving "Never Lose Me" by Flo Milli. It's melodic Rap. So I kinda get why. But yeah, I'm shocked still. But good setup for next era. Urban finally letting up off her neck a bit (post chatroom controversy). She needs some more collabs to secure the format though.
slw84 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I'm surprised this is her first. I thought this would be her 3rd or 4th but congrats. This is an undeniable hit

They don't just be playing anything, otherwise Doja would have a ton more success there. Agora blends hip-hop, R&B & pop very well. The entire song is built around Troop's "All I Do Is Think of You," a major urban hit in the 90s - in itself was a cover of Jackson 5's original. You should listen to them to understand better. On top of that, Doja's rap verses in the song is what has made it go viral. The melodic chorus just adds some "pop" to it and puts a bow on its catchiness. What is "urban" to you? OT: This song has had a chokehold on me personally since release, and I've seen it grow and become popular around me for months now(workplace, out in clubs, etc.) It's definitely made an impact in Urban community so this feels absolutely right. Thank you How is da song not urban when it samples a number one Urban song. 1
