I think the problem with BB/ANG3L and QB being so slow it doesn't translate on stage well with just a backdrop and dancers. A full band like the 333 tour would've been perfect for this tour :(

Agreed!  I also would've loved to see her go more theatrical and storyline driven since she's going off of the drone/cctv world.

If y'all want the tea from someone who was actually there, the show was amazing. The intro is super high energy and loud. The only part that felt weird was her entering doing getting no sleep, didn't feel like an opener with any suspense built in, she just kind of walks on and its one of the more barebones performances.

 

the setlist does translate very well on stage. The crowd was dancing and screaming the whole time.

 

they had obvious sound problems. During thirsty specifically, she was struggling to sing in the falsetto the whole time. You could hear the background vocals more than her. I thought it was just sound issues (Raveena had issues as well) but it seems Tinashe was sick. From Cross That Line and on, she completely lip synced to her studio vocals. I think during the interlude before, she told her team to just use the backing tracks.I have never seen Tinashe lip sync and have been to like 10 of her shows lol, so that was surprising, but it was for the best since the vocals were not too great when you could hear. 
 

overall, it was a really good show. You have to be there to understand the energy and sound in the room. She seemed happy to be there, but maybe under the weather. It was opening night so that comes with its own issues plus they did not rehearse very long for this show. I would experience the show for yourself because clips don't do it justice. 
 

I do agree she could use more theatrics but I have always thought that. The screens and lighting are an upgrade from bb/a. The use of cameras was a welcome surprise. I miss her live band. 
 

TLDR: the show was great in person. she seemed sick based on her vocals and eventual lipsyncing. the crowd was loud, the music was loud, and she put on a good show despite all the sound issues.

It seem she dealing with some personal issues/ sick. Her trying to put this entire thing in a week maybe too much for her, honestly it too much for anyone. She needs to stop doing that. She look like she needed another week about a week to perfect things. Based on the clips I saw, there was a lot of awkwardness.  The production was empty and dull.  For the production she trying to put on she needs more.

 

Instead of getting these huge monitors that really doesn't do much in her filling up the space. She should have gotten a live band instead. All she needed was extra lights, maybe lasers, and a liveband. I don't know she invest so much of the budget to those big screen/monitors. 
 

it so sad cause she needed these first few shows to do well and go get publicity in order to sell these tickets.

The set list really does translate well live! I'd say there was a good balance of her uptempo tracks throughout her set and she was killing the choreo throughout. I agree about the falsetto esp during WIGYA but i wasn't aware that she was under the weather until I checked twitter (I guess that's why VIPs got a meet and greet instead)

 

Overall after sleeping on it (as someone who saw her live for the first time), I enjoyed it and I would definitely see her again! most of my problems were with the venue. the crowd was loud but also terrible (etiquette wise) and the speakers were low around my area 

 

about your lip syncing note, I was looking back at one of my videos during Link Up and I could hear somebody talking in the background about how she was lip syncing earlier in her set :rip:

I understand she wanted more theatrical show, but her , big screen, and 4 dancers are not enough for that. 
 

I understand she wanted to change her life shows but there was nothing wrong with the previous ones she needs to keep improving and naturally evolve those shows with bigger production.

I don't understand why she keeps adding Unconditional to the setlist, the song doesn't work live at all :coffee2:

She was 100% live besides background vocals (that were mixed horribly loud) up until Cross that Line. Then she 100% lipsynced for the rest of the show.

 

WIGYA was rough. She just had a bad night though because I am usually always impressed with her ability to sing live the whole show and dance

It is random. Its a deep cut from 333. She should replace it even tho I love Two Step.

Who even told her to do that? She remove songs like SR4U, life too short , perfect crime, tightrope, like treason is right there (I understand she would be able to last night). Unconditional, nbb,  and story of us needs to stay in album only.

It sucks that she was sick but she still went out and did her best. She neeeeeever lip synchs so it's unfortunate she had to. I'm seeing her in Boston so im sure the kinks will be worked out but plssss add something to the stage design girl 😭

I have never known Tinashe to lipsynced ever, even when is sick or having a tough night. For a to lipsynced mean things were really bad and she was really over it. 
 

Please extend her some graces for the first few shows. She has such bad luck and timing :weeps: The fact they put everything together in such short amount time didn't help.

 

I hope she can pull through tonight.

okay, i've seen a few people say she was potentially sick so I'll give her a bit of a break. i genuinely hate that she still does the thing where she books other performances during the time where she's also trying to practice for tour so she's been planning and rehearsing tour while also performing old show setlists elsewhere up until the last minute. obviously she has to make her coin to pay for everything but it's also just poor time management. 
 

anyway, none of this matters really. i'm sure the show will, hopefully, get a bit better over time and these complaints are just temporary.

Opening night of bb/ang3l tour also wasn't good either but she wasn't sick so she was able to get by.

Well the biggest problem with being independent is the lack of a budget. I agree she should have done those performances before tour preparations, but she also was running around all summer with pushing nasty and such (still don't get the point of all these pop up performances and appearances besides visibility). I don't think nice life is involved that much or at all when it come to touring. I was hoping with nasty success she would have some cute endorsements or sponsors to sponsor this tour, it doesn't look like that. To make things worse this tour is underperforming, which probably affects her budget as well. I am also wondering if she has planned these performance long before or if it is just something they came up with to cover some of the tour expenses. I hope she learned from this and find a better way to handle these things.

 

I was hoping things would be different after the mishaps that has happened throughout the year. I guess not. 
 

 

I need her to add a second NYC date ASAp

I hope she also get Best R&B song, best remix recording and best music video as well. I hope 🤞 she snatch 1 or 2 Grammys next ceremony.

well these college performances she does are pretty routine for her because it's a very easy way to bag a quick check, depending on what she charges now (should be around 100k+) so doing them every year as she has been is perfect. there's still a chance that the shows that aren't sold out will eventually get there or close to it so it won't hurt her that much. speaking of endorsements tho, she does seem to be doing a few of them lately, which is good although i wish her management would try a little harder with getting those deals.

fingers crossed she manages to get that and maybe two more noms. that plus nasty still being fresh in people's minds can really help her gain even more traction next year in time for festival season (higher up on the bill aka more $$$ for the final part of the era)

Aquarius received an animated cover on Apple Music. It's gorgeous! They did a great job! This cover fits the album so well, but then, again, so did the original one. They really picked the best two shots out of the whole album photoshoot. Now if only we could get the rest of the album in Dolby Atmos besides just 2 On.
