Mr. Duff Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Halsey - Strange Love - one of my favorite Halsey songs, good submission
Mr. Duff Posted April 24 Posted April 24 MNEK - Girlfriend - I like the song but the vocals are so basic. Sounds like a demo to me.
Mr. Duff Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Christine and the Queens - A day in the water - I was hoping it would be good because I'm a sucker for sad slow bops. But it didn't go anywhere
Mr. Duff Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Lava La Rue - Angel (feat. Deb Never) - it's giving mid. totally just passed by, I was so indifferent to it
Mr. Duff Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Alex Newell - Basically over You (B.O.Y.) - I thought it was Usher and JT combined I really like it!
Mr. Duff Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Mila Jam - Just Sayin' (with MAKJ & Madds) - pretty vibey, I enjoyed it
patchwerk Posted April 24 Posted April 24 (edited) SOPHIE - JUST LIKE WE NEVER SAID GOODBYE: I find the child-like vocals really off-putting. The production is full throttle from the jump and becomes really abrasive by the close. I wish it had built to a climax for the final chorus instead, her later work showed far more nuance and restraint which I would have appreciated from this. Miley Cyrus - Violet Chemistry: This classic ENDED Lavender Haze! The verses nail that sultry vibe and that chorus is euphoric. Cub Sport - Always Got The Love: Their vocal tone has a really delicate quality. There's a nice driving groove I was vibing out to. Love how it exploded into that stunning chorus. Ethel Cain, YAH WAV - Knuckle Velvet: Incredible atmosphere built by the sparse production and haunting melodies. The second half opening out sonically was just what the track needed. Ayesha Erotica - Emo Boy: I like the mix, it's giving Y2K cheerleader. The lyrics are a lot of fun. I would have appreciated a bridge to break up the repetitiveness of the chorus, but not a huge qualm as overall it's short and "sweet". Adore Delano - Hello, I Love You: Not gonna lie the lyrics are creepy at worst, corny at best. Is the intense stalker vibe it's giving off supposed to be a joke? I don't see the humor in that, sorry. The chorus isn't bad I'll give it that. Demi Lovato - Got Dynamite: This sound suits Demi's vocals perfectly, great choice. Although, the mixed metaphors did confuse somewhat. The excellent bridge was a highlight. Ezra Furman - Restless Year: Heck yeah! Diggin' the 60's beach vibe. The gravely vocals perfectly suit the vibe of the track. Bambie Thug - Tsunami (11:11): Banger! Perfect alignment between the lyrics and sonics, displays excellent song craft. Not "Lick my thunder balls"! Love the dubsteppy outro. Dorian Electra - Man To Man: Love this concept, really clever lyrically. The vocal delivery was reminiscent of George Michael at multiple points. The vocal-auto tuning made for some really interesting melodies. Kehlani - After Hours: Issa bop! I'm up and moving. Kehlani's melodies are absolute earworms, the same goes for this track. Now why does this (lyrically) feel like a sister song to Violet Chemistry… Leith Ross - Music Box: The chorus is giving la vie en rose. The harmonies are cute. The lyrics paint a beautiful visual. It all coasts on the same level for the entire runtime and becomes little too sleepy for me (although based on the lyrics, this may be the intention). Edited April 24 by patchwerk
mokitsu Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Ethel Cain - Michelle Pfeiffer (feat. lil aaron): A song I know and love yeule - cyber meat: Cute Fever Ray - Kandy: Considered sending this, huge bop Elliot Lee - Pink (Freak): What is this Black Skinhead ripoff Halsey - Strange Love: Skip MNEK - Girlfriend: Cute bop Christine and the Queens - A day in the water: Skip Lava La Rue - Angel (feat. Deb Never): Wait this is cute UMI - why dont we go: Alex Newell - Basically over You (B.O.Y.): Cute bop Mila Jam - Just Sayin' (with MAKJ & Madds): Very generic but it bops Arca - Prada: Huge bop
Kinich Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Demi Lovato - Everything You're Not Cute, nostalgia will definitely play an impact on this one.
Kinich Posted April 24 Posted April 24 chloe moriondo - Bodybag Another cute song, I liked the buildup going to the chorus the most.
Kinich Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Shea Couleé - YOUR NAME Very funky and groovy, nothing really special but I did enjoy it.
Kinich Posted April 24 Posted April 24 awfultune - buds The vocals can be grating at times, very poor choice of name.
Kinich Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Jazmin Bean - Favourite Toy Probably the best entry so far, they did that! Saved!
Kinich Posted April 24 Posted April 24 underscores - Locals (Girls Like Us) [with gabby start] What a rollercoaster ride. I loved this! Omg!
Kinich Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Kim Petras - Got My Number There were better options for her but it was fine.
Kinich Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Halsey - Heaven In Hiding Chorus was a bit lacking but I'd still put it on my list.
Kinich Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Janelle Monáe - I Like That Half of the album aged for me but I still enjoyed this song.
