Natasha Ramos claims 'from the Bronx' part in 'Jenny From the Block' is her

All those years I thought that "if I had the luxury of not singing my own songs " shade was just bitterness from la Carey but she was actually onto something

note I don't condone the hate train I'm just a bit shook

I think this random lady is just mad she lives in a tiny one bedroom apartment with roommates and a screaming baby while Jlo has like 15 mansions all over the world. She should be watching her kid instead of hating on beautiful rich women on the internet.

Well, her JFTB demos are on YouTube and you can cleary hear that she has a point in saying that.

Plus, she called Cory Rooney out in one of those TikTok videos, claiming he asked her to give him a French kiss in the studio.

There's no "fraud" or anything "stolen" here so there can't be lawsuit. Natasha was hired to be backup, credited on the liner notes and paid. Also, Jennifer DOES sing the whole song (Natasha herself has confirmed that; see below), but the ad libs + laugh are Natasha. More importantly, Natasha's "background" vocals on the chorus/hook completely overpowers Jennifer's vocals. Essentially it's Jennifer that sings background on the hook.

As for the shade, it's true that there was heavy assistance by backup on a lot of her early songs. In some of the songs, the "backup" is basically lead on the chorus/hook while Jennifer is basically the background singer like on JFTB's chorus.

I will say that all those rodents coming out of the woodwork to proclaim that in 1462 they sang background for someone like what do u want us to do with that information.
we re just a bunch of gays we bop then we keep it moving.

At the end of the day u were paid for ur work. It is what it is. And if ur ass was that talented u would be where she is today. Not laying 20 pounds of makeup on and making a "where are they now" TikTok to explain obscure background vocals.

annoying as ****

one thing I will say is this kind of makes u respect girls like Taylor,  Mariah and Beyonce they do every layer of vocal themselves

now that it's trendy to hate on Jen

Literally the same thing happened to my fav this year. People just like to jump on trends it's embarrassing. People have no real actual reason to dislike Justin & Jennifer.

Natasha Ramos, I was so excited for her debut with Pharrell/Star Trak.  Too bad it all fell through.

She has talked about this briefly before (not as much detail), so this is not her just doing something "on trend".

The part I didn't know was Cory Rooney asking for a kiss…that's disgusting.

That's not true.  Especially if you keep getting screwed over business-wise like she's saying in the video.

She also had a deal with Pharrell/Star Trak, and again with Arista.  SN: She was one of the original girls that started a group with LeToya and LaTavia after they got kicked out of DC (Anjel).

Her talent got her opportunities, but she was just around a bunch of ****** up execs, so things never panned out.  Also labels started merging back then (she lost her deal with Arista when J Records became a thing). Etc.

Talent =/= success, especially back then when getting discovered online wasn't super common.  And piracy shook the industry to its core….so mergers were happening like crazy.

If You Had My Love, Play, Love Don't Cost A Thing, Get Right and more also clearly have other voices clearly singing over Jlo

Ain't Your Mama is literally just Meghan Trainor all over the track :dies:

I don't agree with her. Both were bound to flop sooner or later. It's extremely rare for artist to be on Beyonce level. Beyonce has gone non stop her entire career while both Justin & Jennifer just came back from the longest breaks of their careers.

Telling them to retire is ageism because both released solid bodies of work. Sometimes it's not about the numbers it's about the music.

I've never understood why the producers buried her vocals so many times. I know she's not the best singer in the world, but I quite like her tone. It just doesn't make sense to me.

You spend a lot of time talking about Jennifer Lopez. Like hours a day. Is everything OK at home?

The problem is that she has nothing groundbreaking or something that made a cultural impact in the music industry besides having some success here and there, her only movie that actually made some impact was Selena and it's mainly because of Selena's death

lmfao, what ?! I never knew this. I understand back-up vocals in music but I don't understand why it's needed in some aspects of songs. This being a prime example. Why couldn't J.Lo say that one-liner herself ? it's not some vocally challenging Whitey Houston-eques effort that would have required Jenifer herself to yell 'From the Bronx!' in her own song...about being from the Bronx. :rip:

she probably couldn't find the note
