Dante Silva Posted April 4 Posted April 4 What I like about Dolly is she has the balls to stand up to the country music establishment and do whatever the heck she wants. It's a shame when other white female artists are not woman enough to follow suite. 1 1
SoldierofLove Posted April 4 Posted April 4 She's a survivor for a reason. She's not gonna let the Beyhive get her. 1
Jack! Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Which means she prefers Dolly's but she's scared the hive are gonna come for her. 1

Except Reba plays the wife. Spoiler Bey should have asked Reba to record this with her. The song deserves to be way more famous. 1
abrantino Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Well I know what my favorite version of 'If I Were A Boy' is 1
liquiddiamonds Posted April 4 Posted April 4 I mean she grew up listening to Dolly (huge influence on her) and she even covered it. Why would she say a version that came out a week ago is superior? She dodged this bullet 1

Well Ms. Reba is a Country legend and is well within her right to prefer the Country original. It's all these others that are having the most asinine takes about it. I like that Reba isn't letting herself be baited into the pointless discourse about it. Cowboy Carter is an expansive record and it's a shame much of the commentary is on her take of Jolene, especially out of context.
