Batsy Armada Posted April 2 Posted April 2 And it's very well deserved. I love that she's being recognized as the incredible artist that she has always been. Her consistent growth and evolution has been outstanding, always reaching new peaks. I'm excited for everything that's to come from her! 1 2
J-esper Posted April 2 Posted April 2 (edited) More than deserved. Her impact on the industry, the way she always pushes it steps further. From her visual albums to her music itself, the layers Edited April 2 by J-esper 1
BnPac Posted April 2 Posted April 2 It's the way Stevie loves her and has been so supportive of her since the beginning of her career. Prince was the same. I wish he had the chance to hand her the AOTY at the 2013's Grammy's as he had hoped too. 2 2
Pop Fan Posted April 2 Posted April 2 It's ironic that they chose Beyonce as a recipient of the Innovator award when she's not creating or innovating anything herself…she has never written a song in her life and relies on songwriting camps and makes her albums out of demos sent to her by hundreds of writers who will never get the spotlight even tho they are the ones who deserve this kind of praise and accolades. Im cool with her approach but awards like this should really go to the real artist who write and create their music. 2 13
Rotunda Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Anyway, since I'm out of sleeping pills, I'll indulge you for 10 seconds @Pop Fan. 1. No major industry award is assumed to be the work of a sole individual. Every award winner thanks their collaborators, support systems, industry backers, etc. who helped them realize their visions. Beyoncé is no different. 2. Even if Beyoncé had never written a single word of anything in her life, she'd be an innovator. She's the first Black woman to headline Coachella, she's the only Black woman to top the country chart, she popularized the surprise digital release and is credited with altering the tracking week. All of these things are notable, even if you want to give 100% of the lyrical credit to others. 3. It's the iHeartMusicAwards Impact Award. This isn't songwriter of the year. 3

This is her vision and work, even if it is a team effort. Songwriters and producers need to get their flowers too though Edited April 2 by Shimenawa
Misguided Ghost Posted April 2 Posted April 2 You can't not admire the impact this woman has on music industry. A little shocked she decided to attend But so well deserved, she looked incredible.

Wait wait wait - you're telling me Beyonce has been stealing writing credits since she was 16?! As a brand new artist in a GROUP? And not only did she steal them for herself, but she also managed to sneak in some credit for Kelly and LaTavia and LeToya and Michelle too? That is wild. Thanks for sharing. 1
