Spoiler

Raw and moving poems of love, solitude, and the struggles of youth, from fan-favorite and platinum-certified singer MARINA.

"i thought if i ate the world i would finally be full i would never be hungry again"

In this debut poetry collection, Marina's talent for powerful, evocative song lyrics finds a new outlet as her words weave stories of resilience and self-discovery. Each poem resonates with the same creative melodies and emotional depth that have made her an artistic sensation. Hailed by The New York Times for "redefining songs about coming of age, and the aftermath, with bluntness and crafty intelligence," Marina delves even further into teenage trauma, youth, and the highs and lows of relationships in these profound, autobiographical poems.

Eat the World compiles Marina's original poems and collaborative illustrations to form a collection that transcends the boundaries of music and literature. Her poetry invites readers to explore the human experience through her perspective, offering a profound glimpse into the artist's soul and the universal emotions that connect us all.

I wish her all the luck with it. I was hoping for a new record. Maybe we'll get a little something to promote the book.

Why is it hard for musicians nowadays to record freakin' MUSIC instead of finding every other venture to tap into

I am actually quite exited for this. She's one of the best songwriters living right now. :heart2:

Love her but she's not a particularly strong writer. Make catchy music, please!

I was the

Type of girl

To swallow

The world

Whole, ingest

It all

I felt too

Much, needed

Too much

There

Would never

Be enough

Love

Insatiable

Endless

Black hole

Of

Everythingness

Starving

For

Everything

I didn't need

Malnourished

By placebos

Of love

Vitamins

Called

Successattentionmoneyfame

Pissed out

Unaware

Into luxurious

Japanese

Toilet Bowls

Nothing

Could touch

The sides of

My crippling

Black star

Void, jet, black

Hole of noise

No

Boyfriend magazine

Cover chart sale

Sold

Out tour, million

Dollar contract could

Satiate

My stomach

Ache for love

I thought if

I ate the world

I would finally

Be full

I would never

Be hungry again

I was wrong

Of course I was

This isn't a movie

This is real

Life, a ragged

Jagged pill of

A life

A whirl of

Clothes, cars

Photoshoots, planes

Tearstraumasstudiostrains

Approve, approve, approve

Try, try, try

Grind, grind, grind

To be

Heard, seen

Valued, understood

By men

With no knowledge

Of real womanhood

Who held

My power in

Their purses

Owned

My choruses

And my verses

But now

I am free

Of what I had

To sever

I am free

Of the hunger

Lighter than feather

I am free

Of those men

And prolific like heather

I ate the

Whole world

And I'll eat it

Forever

In the mirror's gaze, where truth often hides,

We dress our fears in glamour and lies.

But beneath the surface, where our true selves reside,

Is the beauty of struggle, of love that's been tried.

Of course she's gonna write a braggy  poem about being self made millionaire
