KatyPrismSpirit Posted March 27 Posted March 27 The fact the whole world was doubting Sam at this point in their career… just for them to come back with a mega smash hit and a successful comeback album. It's rare to see a act with a massive debut era with many hits have a proper follow up that matches the previous success. Beat the sophomore slump effortlessly 1

Beat the sophomore slump effortlessly Exactly, with its follow up "Love Goes" being also a successful album, Gloria unfortunately being Sam's first "flop" album despite it spawning a global smash and close to platinum status in the USA.

Love Goes would've done even better if they had just stuck to "To Die For". Dancing with a Stranger was still fresh and smashing at that point. But yeah it was a success, just not as succesful. Love Goes DID much better than "Thrill" especially in overall WW units, I assure you Love Goes had more hits helping it out tho.

It's really such a shame that they scrapped To Die For (single release and the Album Title) due to thinking it was an insensitive song title as COVID was kicking off. Could have been another career defining ballad for Sam. also, Another One should have been a single 2
