20 people are missing.

The only positive thing about this is it happened at around 1:30AM, if this was in day time with more vehicles, it would be even more tragic.

Hope everyone can be rescued.

I honestly think a lot of the bridges in America need to be completely re-examined for structural safety. Obviously a giant boat collision will test any bridge to its absolute limits - but I can't help but feel like the bridge was probably not in the condition it should've been for passenger safety either.

This is so horrific - rest in peace to anyone who was on the bridge at the time and lost their life. I'm so sad for them and their loved ones.

It's giving Final Destination

I was about to comment the same thing because I rewatcjed a recap like a few days ago so it's fresh in my memory but I thought it would be a bit insensitive so :chick3:

I just woke up and saw this. I have friends near there. Begging that they are sleeping and not gone

Was that crash intentional? Feels like it could have been easily avoided.

Hope everyone is safe.

Horrifying :chick3: I hope they get saved somehow

So reporters are saying that in the video you can see the that ship loses energy/lights right before it crashes and also the black smoke means that it was faulty and maybe the captain lose control.

But oh my god imagine being responsible for striking and collapsing a whole bridge and the ship! That poor man is doomed for life.

it happened at 1:30 AM.

I cant even imagine the catastrophe if this happened in daytime.

Hopefully everyone can be rescued in time.

Literally final destination esque these poor people :chick3:

No shade, when I went to America last Christmas 2023, I really noticed how dilipidated the road infrastructure was when we went to Baltimore, Philly, DC, Boston and NYC. Hell, we may have even passed through this bridge on our way to Philly from DC :rip: Im not surprised by the collapse tbh.

Hopefully there are survivors. Prayers for those who lost their lives :sosad:

Northeast US is old and the government does not care about infrastructure. Philadelphia is even worse. Everything about that city is rotting and falling apart.

I can't fathom the pure terror the victims went through. Rest in peace to everyone.

This is already all over the news in Europe. I'm surprised at how this thread is still on page 1.

a literal nightmare :mazen:

RIP to the people who died

The ship lost power twice beforehand. There are other videos circulating that show the entire event, including both instances of the power going off.

I didn't expect the whole bridge to come crashing down like that. That's horrible. At least it wasn't during the day, but this is still such a tragedy. Those poor construction workers.

Why was a boat that wouldn't fit allowed that close to begin with?

This is so terrifying. What a tragedy. I hope they've been able to save as many as they can. :dancehall:

Uhhh I understand the boat dove into the support stabilizer of the bridge but it's also far too low, that is insane :psyduck: RIP to the victims

Any information about the ships captain?
